Paul George in 2 games of preseason looks very good so far.

I think if he can play SF so he can keep his amazing perimiter defense, he has an outside shot to be an MVP candidate.  I can see him averaging 24/8/4/2/1 this season.

Agree that he will play well this season, but he has almost no chance of MVP. His team might not even make the playoffs in the east and if they do make the playoffs a large part of that will probably be because of Myles Turner’s ability to protect the paint and stretch the floor.

He’s definitely 100%. He’s making it look too easy vs the Pistons tonight. It’s comical watching a four man trying to defend him. He has 32 in 3 quarters.

I think that if he’d buy in 100%, he could be great defensively at the four.

On another note… Stanley Johnson looks great.

That last note… STANLEY JOHNSON LOOKS GREAT! 23 points, 2 steals, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, on 7-12 shooting in 26 minutes. Only downside to his game tonight is the turnovers, he has 6, coaches said last week after he had to play point guard in practice that he needs to stop trying to do too much, to drop turnovers down, but they will give him the ball in the pick and roll. I think that may be what it is.. doing too much.

Stanley Johnson has REALLY impressed me. He reminds me of Jimmy Butler.

You’re right, I think he can be better though. He’s already just as good or even a better passer, Over the summer and in this game it seems like his jumper is legit, and he’s only 19. So much growing left to do.

He was literally playing point guard for most of the night.

I’m glad Stanley’s looking good. Obviously it’s too quick to make a judgment, but I never understood why some people thought Winslow over Johnson was an obvious choice

Cavs unloaded Rakeem Christmas, but he could really solidify the Pacers backline. I think the Pacers are very legit. Myles Turner went off around the end 3rd start 4th, and Joe Young looks like Damian Lillard.

    Stanley Johnson looking amazing.

I agree, PG looked real good. What was suprising to me: Anyone notice how fluid his jumper looks tonight compared to years past? He was a good shooter before -though his jumper always looked a tad bit strange – and I’m not saying he did an overhaul on his mechanics, but it looks Carmelo-ish coming out of his hands, a lot simpler and more compact now. Good for him, looks like he really put in time when he was out and this summer, looking forward to a big season from him!

Hey same here!! Thought I was the only one. I think he has more follow-through on his shot now. In the past years, he tends to throw up his shot and ignore follow-through ala Steph Curry at times. Which I though made him an incosistent shooter. His shot looke a lot better now. It’s a slower form, but a slower form does not mean a worse form.

after that gruesome injury & Stanley Johnson is proving once again how scouting can turn into a group think… Towards the end of the college basketball season last year, scouts were bailing on Johnson & his stock was free falling – I read several web sites that quoted different scouts who said Johnson "was the most Over rated prospect in this Draft…" just one more example of the need to continue debate (friendly of course) & not just drink the Kool Aide & swallow whatever National & Local Media say about these prospects b/c they are usualy just repeating bits & pieces….
