janestis308ParticipantThe Boston Globe is reporting that free agent Rasheed Wallace has committed to sign a contract with the Celtics.
The deal is expected to be two years at the mid-level exception (approximately $5.8 million), as the Celtics’ enthusiastic recruiting paid off in a big way. Rasheed was reportedly impressed by Danny Ainge’s promise that his arrival wouldn’t prohibit the Celtics from adding more talent to the roster. It remains to be seen whether this affects Boston’s stance toward restricted FA Glen Davis.

Stanford hoopsParticipanteither way big baby would come off the becnh..very good pick up..with wallae you know he wont demand the ball..loves not being the focal point on offense..plays very good defense and great insurance if someone gets hurt…it can only help a team to sign a player like that

gatorheelsParticipantI’ve been saying for the past few weeks Rasheed was going to Boston. Everybody kept saying how KG & Wallace hate each other but that isn’t the case. Garnett is the main reason Rasheed went to the Celtics. Boston is loaded especially if they re-sign Big Baby.

Stanford hoopsParticipantwhy did orlando need a big man?..they got to the nba finals without another big man outside of dwight and none of the big men freeagents wanted to come to orlando so they did pretty well considering there options..they like the offense of running and shooting threes..it go them to the finals remeber

RickyRubio9Participantneed a big man because Gortat is leaving and Lakers, Spurs, and Celtics all have more then one big. Well…Spurs don’t really…but still. All they have is Tony Battie and Dwight. Battie doesn’t even play that big.

llperezAre the best team in the east right now. Rasheed will be a huge pick up. As for the Magic, getting Jameer back to full strength is huge and don’t sleep on the addition of Ryan Andersen.

maravich44ParticipantWallace is a nice fit for Celtics. A winner who plays defense and can score inside and out. I think Davis will likely leave, but for right now, Wallace is the better player. He also gives Celts a good match-up for the best teams in East. I think they are team to beat in the conference at this point. How well Shaq blends with James will be a key factor for their main competion, the Cavs. I think Magic will miss Turkoglu even though they got Vince Carter. Not much else to really worry about in the East. Maybe a sleeper such as Hawks, but no serious other threats. I look for Rondo to have a monster year and the Celtics to go to the finals.

doubledribblerParticipantBy signing Rasheed Wallace, the Celtics have probably the three guys that defend Dwight Howard the Best in the League. They also now have two guys capable of staying with Rashard Lewis. Boston is in the finals as long as they don’t have any significant injuries. A great defense just got even better.
I’m just curious to see what veterans decide to take a paycut just to play with this group. Speaking of that, I am surprised that no one has taken a paycut to play with Lebron despite him probably being the best possible star player to play on a team with. Maybe no one wants to live in Cleveland?

MattissickParticipantBoston is greedy? Haha isn’t that what all teams should be? Why would they turn down Rasheed. Perkins!??? He is not Rasheed.. Though I admit he isnt a whole lot worse. Same with Big Baby. Sheed and KG can both shoot and defend and they have 3 good defenders with perkins and those 2 now. Sheed has lots of big time experience. This was a great move.

Stanford hoopsParticipanta big reason is because boston isnt very friendly to black players…for the life of me i dont see why alot of peopel out there still have that attitude but they do…and a couple players wouldnt mind playing it lebron..trouble is they arent freeagents yet or the team wont take back what cleveland would give them for these players
