The 6’5" point guard chose The University of Washington over annual powerhouses in Kentucky (dream school), Louisville, and Arizona, also his hometown Maryland.

I love this kid game and his upside, Like i’ve mention he’s 6’5", he’s an deceptive athlete, a really good passer, improving shooter, seems to have great intangibles, and he’s a pretty young 17. He reminds me of D’Angelo  Russell w/ a tighter handle and more athletic. Draft Express currently have him going number 5 in their latest 2017 NBA Mock Draft.

Washington building a nice team coming the 2016-17 season in which they have Markelle Fultz, Dejounte Murray, Noah Dickerson, and Marquees Criss.

I honestly felt like Maryland was the better fit for him because he will get more exposure playing in the B1G, playing in the east coast, and potentially playing with Josh Jackson. I had both going to Maryland, here was my predictions (http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/2016-recruiting-class-college-predictions)

I’m having second thoughts now. Here’s my updated predictions..

    1. Josh Jackson – Maryland
    2. Harry Giles – Duke
    3. De’Aaron Fox – Kentucky
    4. Malik Monk – Arkansas
    5. Dennis Smith – North Carolina State
    6. Kobi Simmons – Ohio State
    7. Miles Bridges – Michigan State
    8. Rawle Alkins – Kentucky
    9. Thon Maker – Arizona State
    10. Frank Jackson – Duke
    11. TJ Leaf (NEW) – UCLA
    12. Wenyen Gabriel – UCONN (Duke getting Harry Giles, Jayson Tatum, and possibly Chase Jeter in their front court/Kentucky have Sacha Killeya-Jones, Rawle Alkins, Charles Matthews, and Isaac Humphries in their front court)
    13. Edrice Adebayo – NC State
    14. Jarrett Allen – Texas
    15. Marquees Bolden –  Kansas
    16. Udoka Azubuike – Florida State
    17. Dewan Huell – Florida State
    18. Seventh Woods – South Carolina
    19. Cassius Winston – Michigan State
    20. Tony Bradley – Alabama

I want to be optimistic and say UNC gets Bradley and Woods, but my optimism is running thin.

UW is slowly turning themselves into a legit PAC-12 contender, thank God I live 15 minutes away, I can watch them grow up in front of my eyes

I can’t see Malik Monk going to Arkansas with all of their recent player dismissals and off-court conflicts.  I think he’s going to be one of the later commitments of this class and a surprise school could come in and get him if 2 of 3 guards at Kentucky (Ulis, Briscoe, and Murray) don’t leave.

I see him commiting to Kentucy  if he announce early, before De’Aaron Fox, Kobi Simmons, and Dennis Smith. It’ll be pretty hard to not commit to a state school.

If I was him  I would commit to SMU and learn the point guard position from Larry Brown.
