ChicagoCaseyParticipantThere’s been an article saying that Anthony Davis is working on his low post game (http://www.nba.com/pelicans/news/kevin-hanson-working-anthony-davis-add-even-more-aspects-offensive-arsenal), as well as his corner three ball game.
I believe Anthony Davis well have another big breakout season . I believe that Monty Williams really held him back by letting Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holliday hold the ball in the hands for too long, not getting Anthony Davis the ball in his hands (Tyreke Evans had the ball 74.6 times per game) (Anthony Davis had the ball 58.9, which is lower than C.J Watson (plays 25 mpg), Davis West, Joakim Noah, Draymond Green, Paul Millsap, Kevin Love, Chris Bosh, and pleny more players)/ Here’s the list stats.nba.com/tracking/#!/player/possessions/.
I believe with Alvin Gentry his offense will be on full force. You will see his passing abilities (showed a lot later on during last season), the ball in his hands more, and him running more in transition. I expect him to average like 27 11 3 assist and 3 blocks per game next year.
He will be the 2nd most feared mismatch problem on both ends of the court next year (only behind LeBron). He will be able to post up smaller players, dribble past bigger players, shoot over everyone, and being able to run the court.

HeroescantdieParticipantYep, I think he’s skilled and athletic enough to dominate, He’s a pg in Highschool, and IMO he’s agruably the most versatile bigman in the league right now, although he’s not yet on his prime. Imagine if he adds a consistent 3pt shot and polish his off the dribble game in the mid range, He can occasionally iso Bigs top of the key on the 3pt line, He’s a hybrid. Truly the first of his kind in the NBA. I know KG has this kind promise when he first came into the league but back then, it’s a big man league, If your that tall you’ll focus more on the post. But modern NBA seen the likes of KD, a near seven foot with guard like moves. But Davis potential is intriguing since his defensive abilitites is ahead of KD. Im not comparing them, I’m just saying AD is one of his kind.

Rip255I’d love to see him hit corner 3s. No one could block that shot and I’m banking on him making 40% from there if he works on it.

SubZeroParticipantI only disagree with one point: I think next year he will be THE most feared mismatch player, even over Lebron. I think he’s that good and will make that big of a leap next year, especially if he gets that 3 ball to be a respectable shot

whiteflashParticipantI agree with this completely. There’s a few guys who are tougher covers than James is. As much as a relaible 3 would add, I think a consistent post game would be even more dangerous. This is a watered down league with basically no dominant bigs, and if AD develops a handful of go-to moves in the post he will be absolutely unstoppable. Then, if he decides to face you up from 17′ and in [or occasionally step out to 3], you’re toast. There’s no way to guard that, especially in today’s game. I think he’s a top 3 MVP candidate.

HitsterParticipantIf Anthony is working on a 3 point range than that would be scary, we don’t need to see him camped out by the 3 point line but it’s a useful thing to have in his arsenal. I don’t see him transforming into a Dirk like 3 point scorer but having the ability to hit the shot if needed would be useful. Guys like KG and Aldridge aren’t noted as prolific 3 point scorers but they have had reasonable success when they have taken that shooting option.
AD’s potential is still scary to me, he’s only 22 and already averaging 24.4ppg, 10rpg and 2.9bpg last season. Guys hitting 25/10/3 level don’t come along that often.
AD having the ball more does make sense as he could draw the double team and look to move the ball out to the free guy to take an unchallenged shot.
I could see him being a top 3 MVP contender this coming season, I think he is that good. I won’t say he will win the MVP next season given the guys he will likely be up against but he will be a much stronger contender IMO. He also has a legit chance to make the All NBA first team again and could be a leading DPOY contender too.

Andrew1984ParticipantI really want to predict that Anthony Davis has a LeBron-in-’07-esque playoff run and leads the Pellies to the Finals this year. As far as pure talent, he doesn’t have much around him, but LeBron didn’t have much to work with in his first stint with Cleveland either.
Can you imagine a WCF with Davis dueling it out with Durant and Westbrook?! I am salivating just thinking about it!

whiteflashParticipantYour problem there is James played in the East and had David Stern chaperoning him to deep playoff runs, and Davis is in the unbelievably stacked West.

Rip255And Silver.
NBA players are smart….they know if youre in the East…Lebrons team is making the finals. Joining his team or going west are the only 2 options for ring chasers and stars.
NBA puts their headline acts in the finals almost every season cos thats what the people want.
Jordan, Bird, Magic, Lebron, Shaq etc. All great players but more importantly they are majorly popular.
NBA is as rigged as WWE and if you dont believe that, youre a sucker.
Case in point…Steph Curry is everyones darling and the Dubs coast to the championship.
No one likes the Rockets or Clippers cos they flop, complain and have unpopular players. No way NBA was letting Rockets, Clippers or Hawks make the finals.
