Players I believe are being overlooked for the upcoming draft.

Wayne Selden – NBA ready body with a above average shot and very good athleticism and is devolving into a defensive stopper at the two guard position. Also maybe be the best passing two guard in the country.

Gary Payton II – Great defensively averaging over three steals and a block a game, while also averaging seven rebounds a game I believe he will play himself into the middle of the first round.

Isaiah Taylor – A blur in transition and a good finisher around the ring for a guard his size. A great on ball defender but not quite the assist man you’d like too see from a point guard.

Feel free to bring up other guys you feel are being overlooked for next years draft of even overrated players!

As a KU fan, I’ll agree that Wayne Selden is overlooked a bit, especially after a very good showing in the World University Games, but ain’t no way he’s the best passing two guard in the country.

Keep in mind I don’t think he’s the best overall player in the nation at two but his vision and ability too make diifult passes lends me to believe what I said. Compare him too other two guards can you name me a better passer? I’m not saying I’m right but just curious who you thought was better? I think the arrival of Diallo and Bragg will help his assist numbers greatly as the are upgrades from last years front court. Selden also for the first time this summer acted like the first option on the team and didn’t try too just defer like in the years past whether if be too Wiggins, Ellis, Mason.

Wayne really went to the wrong school. Gary is too little to play the 2 in the NBA. Taylor is a pretty shaky player.

kyle collinsworth should be a 2nd rd pick and be a solid back PG in the league. Average athlete, incredible rebounder and strength for his size, when you look at Ben Simmons they basically play alike except Ben is 4 yrs younger and bigger. But Ben has superstar potential, all I’m saying is Kyle can be a solid rotation player.

Ty Wallace and Dwayne Bacon will go down as guys who should go top 10. Ty is a taller Reggie Jackson and Dwayne is a more focused JR Smith

     Deng Adel – Louisville Freshman.

Super athletic 3. Strong, fast and decent skills.

Is a prototypical 3&D guy. Good in transition.

I agree Payton is too small too play the two but has at least adequate size for a point. Possibly Selden did go too the wrong school too showcase his talents and could be the reason he’s overlooked but that doesn’t mean he can give a team first round value once in the league. Taylor is shaky I agree but if he declares this year he goes in the first round yet is not even slated too be ranked next year and that’s ludicrous too me. I agree will you on collinsworth being a second round player. Another player I don’t know how I feel about is Perry Ellis from KU. One game he’s dominate the next hell get you 6pts and 3rbs! Could he play himself into the bottom of the first?

You know your stuff man I’m impressed. Anyways tho GP2 does a lot of things pretty damn well for a guard, but he is going to need A LOT of work on his handle and shooting if he wants to stick around in the NBA, but he’s made pretty good improvements in his game past couple years, maybe he can develop PG offensive skills.

Selden is incredibly talented but man, he really just can’t put in a good game at KU. He’s so unassertive, and yet is able to make so many Mistakes. There is so something on his mind other than basketball when he’s playing, and I feel bad for the kid but i would feel worse for the GM who drafts him. He did play worse from his frosh to soph year, and that pretty much spells "DOOM" for a draft stock.

Taylor got injured and couldn’t get a feel when he came back with Felix also playing alright, so he wouldn’t have been drafted first round. Taylor stock will only go as far as Shaka Smart takes him to be honest. Shaka is a good enough coach to get Taylor #s and wins, but he also can be caught shuffling through different lineups in trying to compete in the new power conference he signed up for.

perry Ellis to me is not a NBA player.

I think a guy like Diamond Stone is severly over looked. Hes no where to be found on 2016 mock draft, I think he will be one-and-done and will make the same impact in college as Jahlil Okafor did. He already has an NBA body. I think he is a top 10 NBA prospect.

So by making the same impact in College as Okafor did, you mean he will average close to 18 and 9 while being the best player on a National Championship team?  Doubtful.  He is nowhere near as refined as Okafor.

Hes 6’9-6’10, 255lbs with array of post skills. Do you know anyone in college that can handle this man? 18PPG AND 10RPG is very much a realistic projection for his freshman year. And YES Maryland will contend this year, their already preseason top 5 team.

I agree with you that Stone is underrated but 18 and 10 maybe pushing it. However I do think he is good enough to be the #1 available C come draft day. Rare skills in a DeMarcus Cousins like body and a fiery competitor. Under Armour (or Maryland) has a chance to compete for the National Title and Stone should be a main factor.

Malik Pope was injured during his last two years of highschool ball and become somewhat of a mystery man during his freshman season. He is skilled and athletic standing 6’10 215. There might not be 10 players in the world his size that can dribble as well as him and he shot above 40% from three last ueyear in limited minutes. What makes him so special is he proved his freshman year he can play a role and he hasn’t even been coached up yet. Whichever team drafts him can mold him into a Chandler Parsons, or a Chris Bosh type player or both depending on what they need and see best.

Stone has good skills and wingspan but seems kinda heavy in my opinion. 250lb in High School? Is he going to be 280 in his mid-twenties?

If he can stay in good shape and be active, he can use his combination of strength & length to be a good defender.

However if he’s like 280lbs and is more of a banger….I see his value reducing substantially.

My projection is that he’s Nathan Jawai 2.0

For those that can’t remember, he’s commonly known as "outback shaq" and has had a good european/international career.

I think he will be a Micheal Sweetney type player in college. Now as a pro prospect, its up to him whether he wants to be a good NBA pro, nevertheless he is an overlooked/underrated prospect going in to 2016 draft.

He just signed with Barcellona (top 5 team in Europe) and is curently in the US working on his body. If everything goes to plan, I see him sneaking into the 1st round. Its been reported that teams like Spurs and Grizz are high on him.

Great call Truth.Vezenkov was rumored to be a surprise 1st rounder this year before pulling out. Another guy nobody is talking about is the Mykhailiuk kid from Kansas. I understand people think he won’t declare next year, but if he wises up and does, people will realize he’s only a baby while blowing up in the workouts and pick him somewhere after the top 10 and before 25.

Barca is only top 5 team by how their brand and name and club is. Not by their level. They stopped being that quite awhile ago. Maybe top 10.

I have been watching Vezenkov play for years since he has only been in Greece since he was a kid (and for people say he is not at all Greek, he can actually only speak Greek and not Bulgarian and has never lived in Bulgaria, and recently said in an interview he considers himself a Greek person)…….

anyway, he is very skilled and has very good size, but he is not athletic enough that NBA is making him a first round draft pick. In Greek league there was not a single player in the whole league at SF or PF that he could defend. And going to Barca with a coach that is 100% defense first in his mentality will do him no favors in playing time. In Aris he played for a coach that cares absolutely nothing for defense. Now he plays for Thibodea/Jeff Van Gundy of Euroleague, and with not being able to defend his position which is PF, and still not being able to defend SF either.

I cannot see him as first round pick with his big issues on defense. Maybe first player taken in 2nd round is more realistic.

Not a player in terms of overlooked but I really like Isiah Briscoe I feel like he can be a really good NBA player where he doesnt have elite quickness he has a ball on a string handle and can bully his way to the basket for his points and plays so smooth. Watching him is like seeing a young D-Will

I’m not plugged in enough with prospect stuff but a guy I don’t hear much about that I think will be really good is Demetrius Jackson from Notre Dame. Good enough shooter. Excellent defender…tough little basturd. I’m very interested to see how he does this year without as much talent around. ND should be solid with him and the big guy who’s name excapes me.

Another guy I was really impressed with this past year was the Michael Gbinije. I mostly like prounouncing his name Ja-bin-jee for some reason, but he looks like he could be a solid NBA guy. prototype wing player size, passes the ball alright, can shoot. Inconsistent and plays for Cuse which is a bit of stigmatism these days. I could see him going 25-45 and having a nice little NBA career.

Thomas Bryant of Indiana seems overlooked to me. 6’10 with a 7’5 wingspan at 245 lbs, although frame could get better in the lower body. Has an inside-outside game and plays as a defensive forces and good rebounder.

I played against him a few years ago when I was in high school, so I’m definitely rooting for him (even if he didn’t commit to my alma mater, Syracuse!)  I’m taking a wait-and-see approach with him in terms of NBA potential though; he’s very stiff in the way he moves and seems to be more of an under-the-rim kinda guy.

I like Tonye Jekri from Miami and Jalen Reynolds from Xavier as late 1st early second round guys. They are on the older side but both can rebound.Jekri is a good shotblocking center while Reynolds is a powerful inside scorer.

Good to see you back friars. Its future_scout here. For those of you that dont know friars, he’s one of the best postas’ on .net history.

With that said, friars, do you remember when i said that Kris Dunn was a future NBA player on his rookie year. No1 but you and me thought so. Now he is projected in the lottery haha.

To answer OP. My choice is Dwayne Bacon, who is ranked in the 30s and 40s by ESPN and draftexpress. By the end of the season he will end up in lottery conversations. Talk about underated.
