I don’t know how/why no one has picked up this dude he is a very good big man who can contribute on a team and is a starting caliber player who could average 13 and 8 on a good team. Everybody is raving on about tristan thompson who is trying to get in excess of $80 mill from the cavs this year when theres a player who is just slightly worse than him for probably 60-65 mill cheaper available. He has a solid hook shot and is a great physical body and great at positioning himself for rebounds and blockig out his man. he even showed a little expanding mid range game at certain points in the season. would be a perfect pickup for a team like dallas, atlanta and portland. obviously as a wizards fan i want him back but i realise that he wants a bigger role and doesnt want to stuck behind gortat, nene, gooden and humphries on the end of their bench and i think he is more than deserving of a starting caliber role

His problem is that he is above-average on offense, but below-average on defense. Most teams prefer to have a defensive big man (e.g. Chandler, Asik, name all the examples) and let the offense come from other positions on the floor. Having said that, I like Seraphin as a back-up big man, who comes in a puts pressure on the inside defense. I always thought he would have been a good fit the the Thunder (but they kept Kanter) or would have been a cheaper (and better fitting) alternative for Asik in New Orleans.
I see very few places were he would fit; the Pacers might be an option, as he would provide them with a more experienced option at the C (unless they want to throw Turner immediately in the fire). Another could be the Blazers, who picked up plenty of players for their frontcourt, but none with a back-to-the-basket game as good as Seraphin’s.

His name is mentioned a lot with the Mavs but apparently he wants more money than teams want to give him
