Which player is the best/most realistic PF option for the Raptors to acquire in a trade since there seems to be alot available.(Raps are still under the cap and have T.Ross, a trade exception and two 2016 first round picks to offer).  The Raptors had the option to draft a PF like Portis, Harrell or Looney but passed for a defensive PG in Wright so it’s safe to assume they want to add a PF who has NBA experience to pair with Patrick Patterson.

    J.Sullinger/K.Olynyk, C.Zeller, T.Gibson, T.Thomspon, K.Faried, D.Lee, T.Jones/D.Motiejunas, R.Anderson, Markieff Morris.

The contract amounts and statuses vary quite a bit but the raps have flexibility to make a deal. It seems as if the Raptors would value a rebounding, shot blocking PF to continue with their defensive signings and draft picks this offseason (Caroll, Joseph, Biyombo, D.Wright and N.Powell).

Who should the raptors target as their starting 4 or are they better served starting Patterson to spread the floor and bring in a backup PF?

I would get T Jones, because of his size and atheltisims and agressiveness with a ever growing jump shot. He is young and i think will still keep on propspering in the league. Many teams are sleeping on his abilities and future.

I know defensively biyombo has the strength and length to line up at the 4 or the 5 I feel like offensively it might benefit him to line up at the 4 because he struggled to score away from the basket in large part due to his limited offensive game and the fact that he had to score over guys like  hibbert cousins gasol Whiteside DJ gobert to name a few but it would make sense that with his athleticism size and length he could become at least somewhat serviceable on the offensive as a 4 against somewhat smaller and less strong opponents he may be a good second option for the raptors at 4 because he’s proven that he can rebound efficiently in a small amount of minutes and a large amount of minutes and we know he is a very efficient defender the only question marks are his basic post game and lack of a face up game

I think its worth noting he is still only 22 and maybe a change of position and scenery I’d what he needs to start developing a post game I know sometimes it takes players who come into the league at the age he did(18) a few years to get there careers on track players like jermaine O’Neal and al Jefferson took a few years and sometimes thethey never pan out like desagana diop and Kwame brown

It would be amazing for the Raptors to get Terrence Jones.

I think Faried has been linked to the Raptors a few times since Masai left Denver and considering that the Nuggets seem to want to move on from him and the familiarity of the two organizations, it seems like something could be worked out.

That being said I would really like to see the Raptors try to acquire KJ McDaniels (through signing or trade). I know he is not a PF but his defensive ability and athleticism would really fit on this team and it looks like Houston might be open to moving him for something rather than matching.

I also wanted KJ as I think his athleticism and shot blocking is needed but I think the signing of Caroll means it will never happen.  Between Caroll, Derozan, JJ and Ross if they keep him there just aren’t enough minutes to go around.

And the answer is……. Luis Scola. Decent pick veteran pickup. Not too exciting though.
