chaParticipantJosh Jackson is not the next Andrew Wiggins. He is not the next great wing prospect. Josh’s explosiveness does not even come close to Andrew’s- both blow past and vertical. I’ve always been a fan of Josh and recently I’ve noticed he doesn’t possess the first step of a Tracy McGrady- a player he’s been compared to the most nor the vertical explosiveness. I don’t forsee him to be a superstar upside wing prospect rather he’s in the middle of a Wiggins and Muhamad type of player. He’s already got a bunch of advance scoring moves however his athleticism is unimpressive. He will get a chance in the league but will need to add strength and continue with being a knock down shooter.

GBeeParticipantHe’s not as long or vertically explosive as Wiggins. Wiggins has a better stroke too. I think Josh’s first step and handle are better though, as is his passing/playmaking. Wiggins really isn’t a blow-by guy (he drove to the basket less than 4 times a game). He plays high and his ball control isn’t that great. I also think Josh is more of a playmaker defensively with his ability to disrupt in the lanes. I don’t see the Wiggins comparison, I don’t see the T-Mac comparison either. He’s a different kind of prospect. To me he’s more of an uber utility guy who’s a menace in transition, but can do a little bit of everything. If his jumper ever catches up to the rest of his game though he’s gonna be trouble.

GBeeParticipantI don’t care what Mike Schmitz thinks either. He’s just a regular dude who makes videos. Evaluate prospects for yourself if you think you have a discerning eye. Come to your own conclusions instead of just taking what other regular dudes say as fact.
That being said, instead of providing no counterpoint and crying about negs you could’ve just responded to my post since I’m the only one who posted or expounded on your OP.

chaParticipantIt’s kind of presumptuous of you to think that I was replying to your post in the first place. I addressed all the negs and had no intentions of replying to you. As evident in my post about the negs wasn’t made in the form of a reply to you and your post. Otherwise, I would have pressed reply to your post and not on my thread in general. Going into the topic, it’s a bit of a stretch to be just calling him a guy who makes videos. DraftExpress and its writers along with scouts have the credibility and the media access to evaluate a young talent and I happen to believe that their scouting is well executed and accurate most of the time. Although, I can’t say I agree with them 100% of the time. An example would be calling Drummond’s best case is Serge Ibaka. I’m not even going to start. Anyway, I truly believe that Josh Jackson is not what people are making him out to be which is ‘the next great wing prospect. That expectation of him is too much. For one, after spending some time watching his highlights, he doesn’t blow past by anyone with ease and he isn’t the explosive athlete that Wiggins is. And before you say that it’s just highlights and it’s not suppose to show you how he contributes in an actual game instead it’s intension is to show you his great moves etc. That is exactly why I believe he’s not in the superstar mold as his highlight (the one thing that should make you look unbelievably talented) would indicate. He’s going to be a good player judging by his ability to create shots and rare physical tools don’t get me wrong. However in comparison to McGrady and Wiggins, he’s just not in that company. Good company but not a freak athlete by any means. That’s my only arguement here- he’s a good prospect but is he in line with the Mcgrady and and Wiggins mold? I don’t believe so.
