I really did not see that coming. I have a really strong feeling that he’s gonna end up being the best player of this draft, don’t know how he dropped to 7.

Knicks: I think the Knicks passed on him because they think Porzingis will have a higher ceiling as Phil Jackson said during the draft.

Magic: They simply don’t need him.

Kings: After refusing to workout with them Mudiay hasn’t got of to the best start with the Kings organisation.

I respect mudiay even more now, since he refused to work out with the kings. I think it should be a red flag if a player in the top 15 to 20 players works out for the kings. Their team is a mess. They went from the maloofs to vivek, who is arguably the worst owner in the NBA. Only the kings would hire a new coach who wants to trade their all star then have reports they are considering letting him go after 30 games.

Mudiay did slip a bit but he had been down as low as 5 on a fair few consensus mocks. As said above he’d rubbed the Kings up the wrong way, the Magic didn’t need him as they have Payton as their young PG and Oladipo can also do point duties. Once Lakers took Russell at 2, that probably made the 76ers have to change their draft plans so they didn’t wantb to reach for Mudiay at 3 or could not do a deal to trade down and get him.

I don’t think anyone thought that Okafor would fall out of top 4 and Porzingis wasn’t likely to fall out of the top 5 IMO so Mudiay was perhaps never likely to go before 5.

I think it’ll be a good fit…hopefully Denver can find some young talent it seems so odd seeing them in place they’re at. This is a great break for the Nuggets.

Mudiay should be good in Denver and will def. help them move on from the injury prone Ty Lawson, which they have wanted to do since last year. I think D’ Angelo Russell will be the best player out of this draft.

I just dont see how he can fail. NBA is a league where PG with his athletic ability thrives on. He’s unique in a sense that nit many of those athletic guards are 6’5 and have a frame of a SF. I’m a Laker and if I could get him instead of Russell, I would. But that’s neither here or there. He is going to be a beast. Baron Davis meets Stephon Marbury type of player.
