For the love of god I’m telling yall porzingas is a bum. Don’t be fooled by these workouts. Look at the tape of him in his league. That crap is not going to make it in this league. He will be dunked on constantly. Whoever drafts him will regret it. He’s doing alley oops and dunks on dudes 6’8. He is rail thin. Don’t do it. If your a top 10 pass on him. It’s like looking at yi again. Just a work out wonder. Just a guy you hope the other falls in love with so you can get your guy. As long as philly gets russell I’m good. For real yall, honestly watch porzingas and tell me he is gonna be as good as dirk? I can’t see it. I’ll pick him in the second round. I’m not buying the hype.

Gonna have to disagree. Bradley was never much of a basketball player, he was just tall. Porzingas seems to be highly skilled, and already playing at a very high level whereas Bradley only played one year of college prior to being drafted.

I bet if you watched Dirk or Pau as prospects when they were coming into the draft you’d say the same thing. There’s a lot risk with Zinger and I honestly think he’s going to take at least one season to get the hang of the NBA and get stronger maybe even more, but there’s a lot to like from his size, length. Shooting, running the floor to become a very good player. He probably has the most bust potential of anyone who’s a top 10 prospect.

Shawn Bradley also wasn’t as terrible as you think. Led the NBA in block pct 6 years and has the highest percentage ever and it’s not even close. Advance stats which either weren’t available or appreciated at the time rank him as an absolute defensive anchor. The 02-03 Mavs won 60 games and finished 9th in defensive rating despite playing Dirk, Nash, and Van Axel big minutes together because of Bradley’s 96 defensive rating that year. That team may have won the championship if Dirk doesnt’ get hurt in the WCF and Bradley was a big part of their success.

Maybe he didn’t live up to being the #2 pick but I hate how he’s ragged on. He would be a $10-12 million player in the NBA right now. In some ways he was before his time.

I’ve been watching this kid religiously and he has all the tools to be very very good, his size is outstanding add on the fact he has great coordination at 7’1.. Teach the kid a fade away step back and a hook shot and he will be dangerous..

No offense but NBA personnel have done their work on Porzingis. They’re not just watching 4 min workout clips and highlight reels on youtube.

Jerrll7, you have to be kidding me, your analogy is ridiculous, Bradley was a bust to some because he was the 2nd pick and didn’t become a star but he lead the league in blocks in 97 and played from 93 to 2005, he was a starter much of that time. That being said he didn’t have hardly any of Porzingis’s skills, Bradley played for my home town BYU and was a major disappointment , I watched him from the time he was in high school, he couldn’t shoot anything like Porzingis, he couldn’t move anything like Porzingis, his frame was narrow and he couldn’t put on weight, Porzingis is totally different, he may be a light weight now but his frame isn’t anything like Bradley’s, Porzingis has the ability to put on weight/muscle and combined with his skill set he could be very good, Dirk good is always a stretch but he does have that potential. He has a combination of Kirlenko and Dirk and that could be real sweet.

Shawn Bradley got to his peak, the thing is that it just lasted about 10 games. He went on a tear for about 6 weeks and had a few triple doubles with points, blocks and rebounds. Im trying to think back when it was but all I keep remembering is the time Shaq pulled that backboard down on his head playing at Meadowlands for the Magic.

He was drafted high on the gamble he could be a force for at least a few seasons, so I think the small glimpses he showed justified the risk. He turned out to be the minimum he offered at the draft – a great rim protector, but there have been a lot worse draft picks than him.

A 7’3" player who runs off screens and drills 53% of his jumpers on the move is one intriguing prospect.

Porzingis is not a novelty item. He’s coming into this draft at 7’3" with shoes, and 230 lbs. he’s put on ten pounds in the past 6 months, most of that time being actively in their season. That is incredibly encouraging. Had he played in the NCAA this season, he may very well have been the consensus number one pick at this point for all we know. He also has the longest wingspan in this draft class per this site. His shooting touch is incredibly natural, he’s already a very good shooter. Add to all that, that his English is very fluent and that he has a reputation as a gym rat, and you have one heck of a prospect. The dexterity that he possesses for a player his size is elite.

I think that he is the easiest prospect to predict to be a bust, but I have as much if not more faith in him being a star than atleast Half the prospects predicted to go in the lottery. All things considered. If dude that started this thread led with "jan veseley" jr, there woulda been a more plausible argument.

It is normal for any fans to have certain doubts on a European prospect. As good as Porzingis is perceived, one has to doubt what he can bring to the best league in the world. It is really sad to see that for every Pau Gasol or a Dirk Nowitzki, there are 10 Maciej Lampe or Tskitishvili just waiting to bust out.

I gotta laugh at the defense of Bradley by some of yall. If was drafted in between webber and Hardaway.  One is a hall of a gamer, the other would have been one if not for the knees. And as far as defense he has a sport center top ten dedicated to him. I know I sound like a butt hurt sixer fan but I don’t see it with kristaps.  I see bradley. I done watched alot of his highlights. Hezonja is gonna be a better player than him. All he is tall. Let a Rasheed Wallace garnett type trash talk to him. Then we gon see what he’s made of.

I actually thought there must be a prospect who is Shawn Bradley’s son.

Imagine if he was taller than the father.

The Zinger, he comes into the NBA as a versatile forward while Bradley was a center.   So the tall Latvian won’t be under the basket like Bradley, although that 7-6 guy did block plenty of shots.

Since when does leagues like ACB (Spanish League) and Eurocup (2nd tier European league) have players only as tall as 6-8? Both leagues are loaded with 7 feet tall players and AVERAGE listed height in both leagues is around 6-7, with MOST PLAYERS LISTED BY BAREFOOT HEIGHT.
