GrandmamaParticipantI love what they’ve done today in acquiring both Batum and Lamb. Two athletic wings who can defend, score, and pass. Both are still young. A trade benefits both players as well. Neither really got a fair shake, more so Lamb, but Batum was at best the 4th option in Portland throughout his career as well. Look for both of them to have their best seasons this upcoming year.

Magic JordanParticipantBatum is at best a 4th option on any contending team. He is wildly inconsistent and a touch overrated. I think the Blazers got the best of it here just off Vonleh’s potential alone.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThere’s a reason Jeremy Lamb didn’t see minutes in OKC… I think he lacks intensity and has questionable desire/work ethic.
I understand the Hornets are trying to "win now", but I feel like they gave up on Vonleh too soon.

Stephen A. BaylessParticipantI like what the Hornets did as well. Batum shot so poorly this past year (well below his average) that his stock was lower than ever. He’s a versatile wing that can do a lot, Charlotte can definitely use more versatility especially since their 2 building blocks aren’t very versatile at all. I would try to sign him to an extension right now in the 3-$30million range which would be great value when the cap increases. He’s only 27 and to me is an ideal role player, especially at a lower salary.
Noah Vonleh has a lot of potential but at this point it just seems to be potential. We become infatuated with prospects but in most cases top level players demanded playing time from day 1 even if they were "raw". Charlotte also saw him in practice everyday and maybe saw nothing more than a slightly above average big down the road.

omphalosParticipantI love that Lamb and Walker are back together. This is the best possible situation for him to get comfortable and start living up to his potential.

Make’Em Say UGHParticipantIs it Dec 25th? I’ve been wanting them to get Lamb for years now! Can’t believe it actually happened, these things are usually no more than fantasies posted as trade topics. Good move Hornets!
Lamb & Kemba will pair nicely in the backcourt. Plus they have the UCONN connection to boat.
Batum offers alot more versatility at the wing position, so much so that I think MKG might be in danger to lose his starting position.
I actually don’t see this as a ‘win now’ move, I see this as much the opposite. Finally we’re focusing on pieces that can gel and grow together vs making that 8th spot immediately only to get swept.
