FrozetoesParticipantI just got done reading Marc Stein and listening to Brian Winhorst talking about LeBrons behavior towards Coach Blatt, and it reminded me why it took so long for me to respect or like him. I honestly thought he had grown up and gotten past all this sh*t, but I guess I was wrong.
"You gotta treat people with respect or why should anyone respect you".

GBeeParticipantLBJ’s a douchebag by nature. That’s what happens when someone gets put on a pedestal and worshipped his entire life. No amount of media training can help suppress his arrogance. It always finds a way to come out no matter how PC he tries to be with the media.
In this stint with the Cavs, he wants a say and his hand in everything. This is his team, his franchise. He’s not just the superstar, he’s the GM and the coach. There is no DWade to check him. There is no figurehead like Riley who backs the coach either so he has free reign to be a control freak. You see it in his interaction with Blatt. You see it in LeBron’s play. IMO, ulitimately I think LeBron wants a situation where he gets all the credit should they win. That’s the only way he can make his case to be the GOAT.
He’s got that franchise by the balls and no one dares to oppose him, including Blatt. LeBron knows this so he can act however he wants to. LBJ doesn’t want to be coached. He doesn’t want a "system" (which btw Blatt’s offensive system, that was basically thrown out by LeBron, is exceptional and got the most out of much lesser talent). LeBron wants a cheerleader who’ll just give him the ball and get out of the way. The problem is that Lebron’s already had that in Mike Brown and we all saw how that turned out. As long as Lebron has as much power as he has, coaches won’t be able to coach to the best of their ability and the GM is just a GM by name. For Blatt’s sake, I hope he gets fired. LeBron will continue to undermine him, make him look a powerless lackey and not let him do what he was hired to do. Blatt would be scooped up with the quickness so I wouldn’t worry about him being out of a job.

zer0d0ubtBlatt didn’t know the first thing about the NBA. Nothing. LeBron knows way more about the NBA than Blatt.
Blatt needs to go back to Europe and be a Pitino-like dictator to inferior players, with his special little system.
NBA is a players’ league, not a rookie Euro coach league.

zer0d0ubtMarc Stein is just circling the wagons around his fellow Chosenite.
How do I know? Because Stein even goes so far as to credit Blatt with the Cavs’ defensive turnaround after Love (and Irving) got hurt.
As if that was because of Blatt, and not because Tristan Thompson and to a lesser extent Dellavadova were way better defenders than the injured guys they replaced.
Stein gave himself away by going so far out of his way to credit Blatt. Stein also goes out of his way to declare that it is beyond question that Blatt deserves to return as the Cavs’ coach, as if Blatt’s coaching ability is beyond reproach.
Chosenites don’t bow to anybody, especially black guys. Just ask Donald Sterling, he knows.

zer0d0ubtwhat a surprise…
Q&A with Marc Stein: Born to cover the NBA, but has plenty of time for Israel
Marc Stein, one of America’s top sports journalists, speaks to Haaretz about his love of world soccer, his time at ESPN and his take on Omri Casspi and the future of Israeli basketball.

zer0d0ubtStein: "All I want to do is adapt quickly to the next few game-changing tools that come along. And I want to attend an Israeli Davis Cup tie at Ramat Hasharon someday … that’s a must. Seeing Israel in the World Cup for the first time since I was a year old and covering the Israeli basketball team at the Olympics would be equally wonderful."
Home is where the heart is. Ask Blatt or Gilbert.

zer0d0ubtBlatt was a rookie coach with zero NBA experience, showed himself to be thin skinned and arrogant, like when he compared his job to a fighter pilot. Then he made boneheaded plays like almost costing the Cavs a playoff game by pulling a (19 year old) Chris Webber and calling a timeout he didn’t have.
Blatt isn’t a great players’ coach, and LeBron is about the best coach on the floor, as well as the best player, in the world.
LeBron just put up one of the very best playoff performances in history, and Stein wants to give his fellow Tribesman as much of that credit as possible.
As if LeBron doesn’t deserve to choose his head coach. I’m guessing Stein would have called Michael Jordan uppity as well under the same circumstances.
The problem is, Sub-Prime Dan Gilbert Chose Blatt for those same ethno-religious reasons, so he might be reluctant to fire the Israeli/former-American.

VRod305ParticipantThe biggest mistake LeBron made was trading Wiggins and Bennett for Love. If you have Wiggins on that team, I believe they have a shot at winning the series. You have a 19-year old that’s an elite defender and can score. Why he’d rather have Kevin Love, who he was going to push to the perimeter and render ineffective anyway over Wiggins is puzzling.
Or they would have been better off taking Embiid and waiting the year to have a dominant big man.
Then he signs Mike Miller and James Jones who can literally do nothing but stand in the corner and shoot threes. Those are his buddies though.
Kyrie Irving isn’t good. He’s a zero guard that looks good on a bad team when he can shoot a million times if he wants. He couldn’t sit out three weeks every time he got a little bruise or bump.
Imagine if the Knicks wouldn’t have given them J.R. and Shumpert.
If I would LeBron, I would let Love take a walk, sign Aldridge and dump Irving for something useful. They need more of a pass-first point guard. Something like Brandon Jennings.
Just my opinion. Honestly, he should "scrap" this plan and go back to the perfect situation and play with Wade, Bosh, Whiteside and Dragic.

zer0d0ubtIf Gilbert butts heads with LeBron and stubbornly sticks with Blatt over a real players’ coach with a lot more experience, LeBron might just walk this summer.
I’m serious.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantWhere to begin here? The love trade looks bad in retrospect but everyone in their right mind could see the reasoning behind it at the time. Your getting a player who was widely considered to be top 10 in the league for an unproven rookie when your franchise is clearly in win- now mode. No one could have predicted he would struggle so much to fit in or get hurt in the playoffs. And no, they wouldn’t have beaten golden state with Wiggins. As much potential as he has, he’s still an inexperienced 19 year old rookie who would not have been ready for the pressure of the NBA finals.
They should dump Irving for a pass first pg like Brandon Jennings? Really?
And lebrons not going back to Miami. Get over it already.

Mr. HookShotParticipantAlthough most people indeed thought it was a good idea, there where plenty of reasons not to trade Wiggins. For one, he is a highly talentend commodity who will play for little money as he is still on his rookie contract for years. Second, as LeBron will age he will shift more and more to the PF position, making room for Wiggins at the SF after starting initially perhaps at the SG position. Thirdly, Wiggins is already an above-average defender who could have given LeBron time off on defense.
I agree though Wiggins wouldn’t have made the difference in this finals, but for the future of that franchise, trading away Wiggins was a bad decision, and mainly made because of the win-now pressure from LeBron and the media.

BiggysmallsParticipantWhat did Blatt do wrong with this team? He almost called a timeout in one of the games, other than that, whats he supposed to do?
This is the sad fact that comes with LeBron…nobody will ever know how good of a coach you are. You will always take the blame if you don’t win a championship, your every decision will be under a microscope.
You will win a lot, but thats the cost of coaching a team with LeBron James on it.
Who knows if Blatt is a good coach or not? He’s got a system that emphasises passing and player movement. We’ve talked about how LeBron doesn’t play that way. He plays the "I’m a star, your a role player" style and no matter what system you put in, he’ll override it.
I agree with whoever said something about LeBron basically taking the organization hostage. He has it by the balls and he’ll walk if he doesnt get his own way. Its pretty annoying, but if your Cleveland, you’ve seen how bad it can get if he leaves. So what choice do you have.

dcaseParticipantThe media really highlighted Blatt’s mistakes (calling for a timeout without any left, not playing Mosgov, etc.) throughout the playoffs. However, I don’t think he got the credit he deserved….especially after Kyrie went down. There was talk that Cleveland had no chance and was maybe going to be swept after they lost game 1 and Kyrie in the finals. They came back to win the next two games and were competitive in the other games (aside from game 4). The narrative for Clevelands success was "how great Lebron is." Yes Lebron was down right dominant and deserves a lot of credit for carrying a short handed team. But Blatt deserves some credit for keeping the team together and motivating them to play hard and be competitive against a superior team. Bottom line is….Blatt is in a no win situation.

omphalosParticipantLebron needs to be careful. There’s going to come a time when his skills start to fade and he hasn’t earned the loyalty of coaches. It wouldn’t surprise me if this all came back to haunt him.
He deserves it.
