Hey guys, I compared the two big time centers in the draft in this video. Similar to my Mudiay and Russell comparison video for those who saw it. Let me know why Im wrong if you disagree with me, and also your general opinion on the topic.

Thanks for putting that together. It was very good and informative. I do have to agree with you on most points. I just hope the Wolves do also.

Heard a lot of Okafor’s weaknesses but not a whole lot of Towns’. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t have a lot, but I still would have found something. Overall, pretty good, but would have liked to see what you came up with as weaknesses for Towns.

I mean, looking at Towns he doesn’t really HAVE any "weaknesses".

He could stand to improve some aspects of his game, like an expanded post-game, but there isn’t really a glaring weakness at either end for Towns.

Towns is interesting to me. I think being on Kentucky it hid some of his strengths also I think it hid his weaknesses also. He is likely a much better outside shooter than he was able to show.

His weaknesses: His defense looked better in college because of all the athletes around him. In the NBA I think he’ll get a little exposed on the defensive end. To me he never had great lateral quickness which I think will see more on the NBA level. He got into foul trouble in a lot of big games he was a little reckless. He only had to play half the game because of the Kentucky system which I think inflated his stats.

Despite his weakness I still think he should go #1. I just don’t think he’s going to be a Anthony Davis level player. I think he can become an AllStar but not a SuperStar.

So you pick okafor’s bad defensive plays and you couldn’t find any break downs from town on either end of the floor…  I find that hard to believe that he was perfect and I say that cause you chose to expose one prospect and show clips of bad plays but you only chose the best plays for towns like he had no breakdown…  By the way I like both prospects just don’t like a video of outright bias

Physically, Towns has no weakness. I question whether he will be assertive enough to be the focal point of the offense when he gets to the league. I never saw him dominate anyone offensively when he was at Kentucky.

Okafor on the other looks like the type of player than you can build your offense around. Im saying Okafor is much closer to being a franchise player than Towns. I believe the reason Towns is ahead of Okafor on most mocks is because Okafor and Pekovic frontcourt doesnt make much sense due to their similarities as a player. If the Lakers were picking first, I believe they would take Okafor ahead of Towns.

I’m glad to hear there’s someone else on this forum that isn’t solid at Okafor being the number 2 pick. But that Eddy Curry comparison is brutal. Seriously man, shots fired. Curry was bounced out the league, I would be shocked if Okafor doesn’t have a hefty contract 10 years from now. The question is if you can build a championship team around him instead of a team stuck in mediocrity ala Charlotte Hornets with Al Jefferson.

Wow. Okafor #8?? Really? I mean I thought you made some really good points on both Towns and Okafor, but I feel you’re underestimating Okafor’s capabilities on both sides of the floor.
