Accoriding to a couple of articles, Russell canceled his visit/ workout with the Sixers today. I thought it was a foregone conclusion that he would end up in Philly, but after visiting with Minny and LA, maybe he feels he will be drafted by them?

Maybe I’m reading too far into this, but its weird for sure.

A good bit of Porzingas chatter as well.  Plus reports of the Sixers discussing a buyout with Saric and his club.  What Sam hell is Hinkie up too.

Hinkie probably will draft Porzingis and then trade Nerlens Noel for more picks, try and win the lottery, and if he loses and doesn’t get Ben Simons proably trade the pick for 2017 picks. Make sure his starting guards are Isaiah Canaan and Tony Wroten.

The ESPN sidebar mentioned a rumor that the T Wolves might take D’Angelo Russell at point guard and trade Ricky Rubio.

    Well, does that make sense?

What they MIGHT do is trade Rubio and other assets to Philly for the 3rd pick.  Maybe Philly is not sold on any of these guys at 3.  Rubio, Shabazz Muhammed and the rookie contract known as Anthony Bennett… would that be enough for the 3rd pick?

The coach complained this year that Joel Embiid was probably the 2nd best shooter on the team.

Rubio is treading on the bust category. Not worth #3 pick.

6-years removed from his draft class. I believe it is safe to say, we have seen the best of Ricky Rubio’s play already. The next best thing for him to do is turn into Jason Kidd The Three-Point Specialist. Other than that, Rubio is what he is at this stage of his career while others have gotten better.

Not to mention! I absolutely loved his defensive stance to hold it down (P.O.P.-style) with the steals department a few years back.

Nobody is taking on Ricy Rubio’s contract. It befuddles me as to what Minnesota was thinking when they re-upped him???

If this actually means something, I think it’s one of two things.

LA is picking Russell at 2 (probably would just pursue Monroe or Lopez in FA)

    Philly is trading the pick.

I would bet more on this scenario. Russell is high on other teams’ draftboards, ie Sacramento. Even if they do prefer Porzingas, Hinske would exhaust every opportunity to gain additional picks. NY isn’t picking Porzingas and I doubt Orlando does. If Philly can get Stauskas from Sacramento, then pick Porzingas at 5, it works out.

lakers not taking russel they are taken okafur no matter what unless he is off the board. As a said before russel is a good prospect but wing defenders who are bigger qucker and stronger then him will give him problems. No idea what sixers are doing but don’t be surprised if emmanual is picked here hinkie visted more games of his in china then anyone else

I would bet my house, and yours, that the remaining big is drafted by LA. I’ll also say it’s unlikely Philly drafst Porzingas either. Philly always considers the future. Next year’s draft doesn’t have any elite pg prospects. If not Russell, I think they take Mundaiy.

Any news of him having a workout in Philly?

Sounds like a promise made by the Sixers. No need to workout if thats the case… Also Hinkie is not in town today, so D Russ prolly would want to workout in front of him.

Another possible reason, which I like the most. Russell to Philly makes too much sense to not happen. If Mudiay’s mother was Philly’s GM, she’ll draft Russell.

Of course Philly gets the hardest pick in the draft.  1 is a toss up, so the number 2 pick is close to a no brainer.

Then you get to 3.  And Philly.  And Sam Hinkie.

Then at 4 you get a pretty good consolation prize named the New York Knicks and their (cough, cough) "management".

    Thank you lottery balls.

philly will take mudiay even if russell is on the bd at this point…the mudiay workouts have solidified his abilities as a shooter were far underated.

I think that he just cancelled because Philly made him a promise. I mean c’mon, they got their frontcourt pretty much set for the future (barring any major injuries), what sense would it make to take Porzingis? D’Angelo is the obvious fit here.

There’s one significant reason why the 76ers were flirting with a Top-10 defense this past season – Nerlens Noel!

All signs show the 76ers want Porzingas and are trying to buyout Sarics contract. And with Noel and Embid still on the roster. All this after reading away ROY MCW. He has shown he is the absolute WORST GM out there. Russel probably canceled so he can try to anything he can to prevent from being drafted by Philly. I wouldnt blame him not one bit

Billy King called and he said he wants his title back as Worst GM. Hinkie has shown he isn’t afraid to make moves which some people question….but he knows the team isn’t going to contend overnight so adding assets is the best thing to do. He does have a bunch of young bigs that a lot of teams would love to have. That being said if they take Porzingas over Russell I am going to be livid.

I am assuming he was actually sick because why would you cancel a workout with the team with the 3rd pick when you are the 3rd ranked prospect by many people. You can say that the Sixers suck and he wants to avoid them but if you look at their future it is as bright as any team picking in the top 10 besides maybe the Timberwolves but nobody wants to live in Minnesota. We saw Garnett and Love bolt from Minnesota so I would think Philly would be a more prime destination.

I know everybody wants to live in LA but from a roster standpoint once Kobe retires all they have moving forward is Randle and Clarkson…I think the Sixers young core of Embiid, Noel and Saric is much more promising…you could even throw Wroten in there being that he is a full year younger than Clarkson and started the season as well or better than Clarkson finished his.

because Hinke is ready to watch PORz, not him,

su russel have to cancel the workout.

Hinke can not handle 2 workouts together,so he choose what he want to watch.

when russel cancel the workout, SAm hinkie is in the crowd of POr Hype
