First off I have to give it up to the Cavs for their amazing effort and fight. I felt like the Cavs played a wonderful game last night and did a wonderful job defensively on Steph Curry. And I felt like the Cavs won this game instead of the Warriors losing this game. This would be a great story if the Cavs magically beat one of the best teams in NBA history ( stats wise ) without two all star caliber players.

To tell you the truth I still believe the Warriors will win this in 5 or 6 games. I don’t see Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Andrew Bogut, Andre Iguodola, and Harrison Barnes playing this poorly all game. I know the Cavs defense have something to do with it. But, I don’t expect Curry to miss 13 three point attempts and not be more aggresive, Harrison Barnes missing ride open shots, Draymond Green not having a field goal made till overtime and having poor turnovers, and Bogut not being that bad. I know you can say the same thing about J.R. Snith, but everybody knows J.R is J.R.

Othewise, great game by the King and he’s having the best finals performances that I’ve ever seen ( only 18 years old ). He’s basically averaging a tripple double while averaging 40 points per game. Only way I see the Cavs wining this series is if the best them in 5 games because of the amount of minutes LeBron James is tolling.

I had the Warriors in 6, and I’m still sticking with that, but they need to win the next game for me. No more pouting Steph, and they need to attack the basket more and not settle for 3’s. I understand that is part of their game, but going 8/35 from 3 should be a real eye opener for them.

Cavs are also being under rated because people can’t take a second to look at the names on the front of the jersey instead of the back. We know more players on the Warriors thus they are the better team. If this was football the Cavs would be the favorites.

    Better QB? Check

    Better Defense? Check

    Coaching? I’d say it’s equal

    Experience? Check

    Momentum? Check

    The best mismatch? Check

Think of the 2010 Patriots vs NY Giants. Same thing really.

I think this series is more for the Warriors to win than it would be for Cleveland to lose. GS is good, but they have their flaws, and once you find a flaw you can exploit it to beat a better team. The Warriors should know that all too well (2007).

I would like to see Kerr make some minor adjustments going into Cleveland. I would start Iggy, and move Barnes to the bench. Iggy has played pretty good defense, but his major attribute to the starting lineup would be his ability to run plays and move the ball. Barnes is looking to pass the second he doesn’t see an opening, where Iggy has the ability to create that opening. This would give Curry the ability to play more off the ball, and hopefully get into a better rhythem, and would create more opportunities at the rim.

They need to start focusing on Moz. You can’t allow him to get 20 points on you, because most of those are coming in the paint. He’s been LeBrons sidekick for the last two games really. If you need to sag off a little, than do it, because if you get into a 3pnt shoot out with the Cavs you take that any day off the week, but you can’t afford for LeBron and Moz to get high % shots at the rim/line all night.

They need to run more plays for Green. I know this sounds dumb, but I just don’t understand why they havent gone for the Curry/Green double pick and role as much. Thompson is a good perimeter defender, but giving Green/Curry an angle to work on takes Tristan out of the picture completely or puts him in a bad defensive position. Again though, I think this is a testament to the Cavs D, and the Warriors inability or lack there of, of getting to the rim.

The cavs are not the better team defensively. Dont make conclusions based off of one game. Also there is no momentum in between playoff games. Its been said by every great player.

The Cavs in this playoffs have def. been the better defensive team, who are you watching? Theyre completely controlling the pace of these games so far.

Im definitely watching the cavs shoot a lower fg percentage than the warriors. What have you seen?

Cavs defense has a part to do with it but alot of the players did not play very poorly for Warriors. Bogut was 0-1 and did not contribute offensively and did rebound. Barnes shot 5-10 50% did miss some open 3’s. Iggy was 3-5 60%. Klay shot 14-28. Most of the bench payers and role players shot a good percentage but Steph and Draymond were bad. Warriors shot 40 % as a team. The Cavs only shot 32% and every player shot a pretty bad percentage except Mosgov. Argument could be made that they can shoot better as well. Cavs won the game though by winning on the boards by 10 and getting 15 more free throws.

If the warriors don’t sweep it’s the biggest embarassment as this teams are severely mismatched.

I said this before the series, after game 1, and still now…

well, they already lost 1 now. lol even if they win 4-1 i still consider it failure. c’mon lebron is 30 freakin years old, no pep in his step, no bounce on his vertical, bricking 3 pointers for 98% of playoff games.

    FAIL.

So you’re saying even if Golden State wins the championship it’s a failure because it wasn’t a sweep?   Lebron may be 30 but he is still the best player in the world.  He makes all of his teammates better and they are playing excellent defense.  The Cavs may be banged up but they are no pushover.  Golden State still has to earn the championship and if they do it’s no failure.

Are not likely to play that bad in terms of scoring the  rest of the series. GS takes the next game they win in 5. If they lose, then they are in trouble. Lebron will look to step on their throats in game 4. Game 3 must win for GS

Lebron is the best player on the court by far. Curry is doing everything he can but it’s not enough.  A series doesnt start until a team loses home court advantage. If Lebron gets half the calls in Cleveland the Cavs will win both games. A lot of you are right. This series might be over in five or six. Only you picked the wrong team.

Not a fan of either team, but don’t complain about the calls. For every LeBron James no call there’s a push off by LeBron James. LeBron James also took like 18 free throws last night. So quit making it seem like LeBron James not getting calls.

Not saying it’s impossible that the Cavs will win the series, but I would be stunned and I believe most basketball fans would be stunned. If the Cavs have any hope to win the series is if they end it early because LeBron James playing practially every minute in both games and that will be taxing down the road.

People do realize the starters don’t play the whole game right? Besides James of course?

Putting Iggy in the starting lineup would theoretically fix the Warriors problem (doubtfull anyways) for the first 6 minutes of the game. After that, the Warriors mix and match lineups all the time.

Great game following up a great first game.

Lebron is on his way to the best Finals performance EVER.

Outside Lebron, the Cavs are a team of X factors.  JR Smith the perpetual X factor on offense since he can either shoot you in or out of a game, and, apparently on defense, as he made some bad fouls on shooters.

Mozgov who looks awesome right now.  BIG X factor, not sure why he didn’t play in the 4th quarter.

Tristan Thompson is a warrior.  Great intangibles guy and good defender.  Awesome motor and rebounder.

Mathew Dellavadova was THE X factor last night with his great defense, timely scoring, and then the offensive rebound and foul shots that put the Cavs ahead for good.

James Jones also played a big part in their win.

The Warriors blew a great opportunity.  1-1 is MUCH different than 2-0.  Plus the Cavs are going back home.

Usually 67 win teams go on to win the title.  I think a 68 Celtic team lost the title after Havlicek got injured, but I think that is about it.  BUT, I think it will be more the Cavs winning it compared to the Warriors losing it.

Sometimes teams don’t get over the hump right away.  The Pistons, Bulls, etc.  Even Kobe lost his first Finals as the lead guy with Pau as his running mate.

Now, if the Warriors lose the series and then don’t win a title, or worse, fail to get back to the Finals, then this season will have been a disappointment.  Instead of a budding dynasty, people will look at this season as a flukey team that came up emtpy handed.

If they lose, yeah, it will be the BEST full strength team to not win the NBA title.

Upside even if they lose: they are young with a ridiculous core.

I was surprised by their bench in Game 1.  They really came through, especially Iggy who played a great game on both sides of the ball.  This time, the Warriors bench fell back to earth.  I think the Big Mo missed dunk at the end of the 3rd was a bad omen…

The Warriors have a very solid Andrew Bogut at center when healthy.  Draymond Green is a great do-everything forward and Harrison Barnes is a top notch and understated 4th option, but they need another guy with SIZE inside.  They need a legit power forward in my opinion.  Speights is decent, but can’t be counted on all the time.  Sure, they can use some depth at the 2 but maybe they can pick up a 2nd rounder to go after Pat Conaughton, Aaron Harrison, or JP Tokoto.

The Warriors shot very poorly last night and if you can keep Curry quiet then Thompson has to carry the scoring a lot.

GSW have been a bit lucky in the play off run that they have not come up against a dominant big man as they have been able to let Bogut watch his minutes.

People say LBJ is playing crazy minutes but don’t forget the likes of Curry have had a very long season too.

I still favour GSW slightly for the title but it could go all the way.
