llperezJeez guys 2 games in and no threads dedicated to general game talk?
Anyways props to curry for keeping his aggressive attitude despite playing poorly. Props to Lebrun for attacking the rim aggressively on last play of regulation, they let iggy get away with using his hands a lot on that play but you learn to expect that.

BiggysmallsParticipantWeird to think that both PFs in this series will probably get max or close to max contracts this summer…
Great quote by JVG…"Dumb gets you beat"
Amzing that Delly can stick with Curry this well, but Irving can’t.
Steph needs to attack the rim…
Barnes needs to hit a wide open shot my gawd

omphalosParticipantIf Golden State corral the ball after Draymond’s block it’s over.
Hell of a game by the Cavs, but it’s hard to see them winning against the Warriors another three times.
Curry played horribly, Lebron was amazing for 3 1/2 quarters and the Warriors were out of sync and they STILL nearly won.
I feel like Lebron is going to wear down soon with the burden that’s being placed upon him.
I also think the Warriors will be able to take at least one in Cleveland, if not two, I think they’ll play just fine on the road, might help calm the nerves a little bit.
I’m glad this series is looking to be close still, even if it could cost me a fair amount of money.

mgreener_34ParticipantLive by the three die by the three. Steph didn’t know what to do once his 3 ball was gone, and with a physical defender on him in Delly he refused to go to the hole. He needs to realize he’s the MVP and just attack off the dribble and not settle for the 3 all game. This would have been an easy Warriors win if Steph didn’t sell out, I’m extremely dissapointed in him. He really game this game away at the end too with that terrible shot and horrible 2 turnovers.

chrispaulwallParticipantI don’t care what the situation is, I still want steph shooting the ball. this was possibly his worst playoff game ever. he was horrible offensively. but I still want him shooting. he’s too good to let an off game shake his confidence and make him play outside of himself. it’s easy enough to say he should have driven but the defense wasn’t giving him any room. give credit where credit is due and steph was unquestionably bad, but one game is one game. I doubt he will have any problems bouncing back

mgreener_34ParticipantI wouldn’t say that is 100% accurate. People said the same thing about the Warriors, and they almost lost both games. To be honest, I don’t think home court matters unless it’s a game 7. People said the same thing about the Celtics in 2010 and 2012 and they lost to the eventual champs on their homecourt in elimination games, and then lost game 7 on the road.
I do think game 3 is a must win for GS though. People like to create narratives and talk down this CLE team, but they are still an elite rebounding and defensive team with the best player in the league on it. They can still win. But I’ve seen a lot of good things from GS which shows me they can bounce back. Klay was able to get it going finally, and Barnes and Green haven’t shyed away from the moment. Curry threw ducks all game, and LeBron had another historic game. I expect GS to bounce back, but they can’t get mentally weak right now. This is were the veterans on the team like Iggy and Leandro step in, and where Steve Kerr has to rally the troups, because this team has to be fighting for their lives on Tuesday.

ChicagoCaseyParticipantI can see them losing both games at home. I just don’t see Steph Curry, Draymond Greene, Andrew Bogut, and Harrison Barnes all play poorly. And Steve Kerr not giving Klay Thompson the ball more down the stretch. It was a great game by the Cavs but I don’t see them winning the series and winning 3 in a row. Great effort by the Cavs, just don’t see the Warriors missing open shots and being careless with the ball.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantOne of the worst games I’ve ever seen curry play and not just because his shot was off. I know he’s a great shooter and he was trying to get going, but I thought he really forced some bad contested shots when he could’ve looked to penetrate more and create some better shots for teammates. He was also loose with the ball, and had some really costly turnovers. Thompson forced some questionable shots too I thought, even though he was making a lot of them.
Cleveland just grinded this one out and that’s what they are gonna have to do to make this a series. Everything seemed to be going against them down the stretch ( including the calls) and they still found a way to get it done. Very impressive win.

kingofbumsParticipantAnyone know why mozgov was not playing in the late stages of the game when they clearly needed some offense? I mean TT doesnt even roll or anything. Hes a beast on the boards yes and a good defender but man hes just taking up space on offense. Mozgov was giving the warriors fits and they really couldnt contain him in the pnr. Hope they use him more late in gm 3

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantIt was for defensive reasons. Golden state took out bogut and went small with green at center and basically 4 guards. As a result, Cleveland could only play one big, and Thompson is more much effective defending the pick and roll.

NickWayne87ParticipantTackle a Tristian nearly cost Cleveland this game in heartbeat, they were winning fairly comfortably before that then that shave off 5 points of their lead quickly and shifted the momentum in Golden State’s direction. With that said I don’t want to see the rule change, players just need to work on their damn freethrow. I thought it was a tactical well timed coaching chess move.

omphalosParticipantI think if Lebron wins this you can start legitimately putting him in the conversation with Jordan as GOAT.
Jordan never had to win with so little talent.
But at the same time, Jordan never lost with more talent like Lebron did against the Mavs and the Spurs last season.
It would make it a conversation though.

MikezParticipantI disagree with people that say that if Curry had played better, or Speights had not missed the dunk, GS would have won. The game would have been different, every single move on the court changes the game in numerous ways.
For example, the Cavaliers/Warriors play the game differently down/up 1, different plays, different rotations, different effort. It happened in game 1, if Lebron or Shumpert hit that shot at end of regulation, Kyire is likely still playing in this series.

if lebron went 4-6 from 3 instead of 3-6 by hitting that 3 with about 60 seconds left, 80% chance cavs win this in regulation.

mgreener_34ParticipantThe play that was the game changer was when Curry got the ball at the end, took two or three steps towards the hoop, thought "naa I’m a three point shooter" and shot a ridiculous step back that he haden’t hit all night. You always attack the basket if you’re down by 1, ALWAYS! Because if you don’t make the shot, someone might mess up (JR) and foul you. Such a bad game by Curry, I still can’t shake it.

tuck243ParticipantThe Cavs are leaving Iggy, Barnes, and Green wide open and doubling (sometimes triple teaming) Steph off screens. They’re leaving Mogs there to protect the paint and the Warriors (the 3 players mentioned) aren’t attacking him. They’re not hitting open shots either. Draymond completely abandoned his 3pt shot and decided to throw oops out of bounds. Harrison Barnes shot an airball when he was wide open for 3. Iggy literally look to pass on every play instead of playing aggressive (like Game 1 not taking that layup?) Speights also didn’t hit a shot either. Despite all that, the Warriors lost by 2 in OT. LeBron needed a triple double and 39 points on 35 shots to win.
I don’t know about yall, but I have GS in 5 or 6 games.
Also, the Cavs did this to the Bulls, but they’re now doing this to the Warriors. They’re face guarding Steph in the back court and forcing other players to start the offense. THIS NEEDS TO STOP. I truly don’t understand why these teams are allowing Cavs to take away their primary ballhandler beginning of the shot clock. It’s only 24 seconds on the clock, so when he eventually gets the ball it’s too late.
Did yall noticed that Kerr didn’t switch up his game plan? He didn’t tell his team to start attacking more nor did he switch up the line ups. Why David Lee isn’t seeing the floor with that small lineup? Draymond Green played HORRIBLE last night and IMO lost the game for the Warriors. He played Hero ball and Steve Kerr refused to bench him. I don’t get it…

Why David Lee isn’t seeing the floor with that small lineup? Draymond Green played HORRIBLE last night and IMO lost the game for the Warriors. He played Hero ball and Steve Kerr refused to bench him. I don’t get it…

sitlbitoParticipantGolden State played poorly, individually and collectively and managed to lose only in OT. But I’m glad that we have a series now. I don’t see Cleveland winning this now,but I can see it going to 7 games, which I would love. Wasn’t the prettiest game, but man these defenses are next level honestly. LeBron James shot badly(let’s not act like it’s a good thing because he’s agresisve whatsoever …) but he’s got such a unique skillset ,he puts a tremendous pressure on the defense. Now I think the Cavs will need to be more efficient at some point,I can’t see the Warriors missing all these shots all series long.

DominiciaParticipantCavs are keeping the equality without 2 great players but I think that they can’t win the finals…

sitlbitoParticipantThat series is so fun that the same can be said about the Warriors. What if Curry catches that ball after the Iguodala save out of bounds? The warriors could be 2-0 as well. Terrific series, and with these two overtimes, not much sleep for us european fans.
