    Chicago Bulls guard Ben Gordon(notes) and Milwaukee Bucks forward Charlie Villanueva(notes) flew to Detroit on Wednesday morning for a mid-day meeting with team president Joe Dumars and indications are both are moving rapidly toward deals with the Detroit Pistons, league and sources close to the two players told Yahoo! Sports.

    Gordon and Villanueva, both unrestricted free agents, would be significant strikes on the first full day of NBA free agency.

    Gordon and Villanueva played one season together at the University of Connecticut, and are good friends. The Pistons have nearly $20 million in salary-cap space and it’s thought that the offers to these two players would come close to expending that money.

    Yeah I really think so. Both players will be in Detroit this season.

    they get what they need and then trade Rip Hamilton for a center because Rasheed might be leaving for Boston.

    The Pistons had got to the conference finals 3 years in a row and did not get it done. He only moved Billups to free up money. Now he is trying to retool without having to completly rebuild. Joe is good at that. If he pulls this off this has been a great off season for a team that looked like it was on it’s way down. Bring us Rasheed Danny we want him in Boston. Can we get another ring?

    Why are the Pistons so in love with Gordon? I don’t see what Joe D sees. I mean, this guy is a great 6th man, but can he be a starter? The Bulls flirted with the idea often, but it never seemed to pan out.

    Time to trade rip and blow up this team. I love that we are going after Chuck V, but I don’t understand Gordon.

    Joe D needs to call the Birdman and call NO.

    Let’s get this rip for Chandler deal done too.

    says that gordon is going to be sixth man in detroit and still signed knowing that so no trade for rip i guess
