Jr. ROXASParticipantOk, I’ve never seen Auguste play before except in this NCAA tournament. I’m just curious on your opinions on him becuase a lot of you may have obiously seen him play more before. Does he have any chance in the first round or is he really just a second rounder maybe?
I’ve just been really impressed by the talent he has been showing this tournament. He’s athletic and aggresive but he also has good touch and footwork around the rim, as shown in that one 25 point outburst he had against a 15th seed I think. This time against Kentucky, he was battling Towns basket by basket and was really impressive with his energy and athletiscm.
I’m just surprised nobody’s benn talking about him bduring the season or have I just been missing something? I, for one, honestly see him as a first rounder and if not, he can maybe raise his stock next season which is his final season.

IndianaBasketballParticipantTrying not to take anything away from Auguste, but I felt like his success was due primarily to the way ND plays. They play that spread/high screen and roll offense, which left wide open lanes. KY clearly struggled defending it.
I think he’s a second round pick. He has decent size…He’s listed at 6′ 10", but he looked a couple of inches shorter and just a lot smaller than Towns to me. He’s a good athlete and plays with the type of energy that could allow him to be an energy big off of the bench in the NBA.

TRC1991ParticipantHe looks more 6’8" 225 than 6’10” 242…Either that or Karl Towns is just a complete giant because the size differential was totally noticable.
Auguste is a 2nd round pick at best

IknoBall12Participantnot trying to be a hater but this guy is just a big who plays for Norte dame. I mean look at most of his games this year and primarily against Kentucky. He just get put backs after Kentucky bigs tried to block shots. And he has no defense he just fouls. Karl towns is a great prospect but by no means should he be able tO do the same exact move over and over and get buckets. I just don’t see him sticking in the league

hylandptParticipantlol….Towns not being able to stay in the NBA? He has other offensive moves you know right? He also has a 18 foot jumpshot he never gets to use because Kentucky patrols him in the paint.

CynthiaParticipantI’ve also never seen him play before the tournament, and I know you always have to take the tourny with a grain of salt, but he’s been one of the more stand-out players for me personally.
