SmooveKRYPTParticipantReports are saying Goran Dragic’s agent asket the Suns for a trade today. His preferred destinations are NYK, LAL, & MIA.
What do you guys think will be the best fit and possible trade packages for him?
I personally feel Miami would be great for him…He’d give them a transition element they’ve been sort of lacking this year. A huge upgrade over the trio of Chalmers, Cole, & Napier. He was 3rd team all-NBA last year putting up 20ppg and I don’t see any reason why he can’t come close to duplicating those numbers the rest of the way in a situation like that. Phoenix has long had interest in Deng and if they were still trying to hold onto that 8 seed then a deal for him and a protected 1st is probably the best they’d get from any of those teams.

PHXSUNDREAMPICK13ParticipantWould be cool to get McRoberts and Cole for Dragic and Plumlee. Miami probably wouldnt part with McRoberts but is expendable with Whiteside coming on

NCarmean18ParticipantThe last time that I have checked, Josh Mcroberts was injured, thus making this trade unavailable.
And would you really consider McRoberts and Norris Cole for Goran Dragic AND Miles Plumlee? The Miami Heat would come over with a steal in this trade.

r377ParticipantWith two days left before deadline it was nice for him to come out with this demand.
I used to really like Dragic but have now lost respect for him. Look at what teams he has listed – big city attention seeker and not really interested in joining a contending team. Miami are getting older and older with more miles, LA and Knicks both are the worst teams in the league with crippling contracts of melo and kobe.
The Suns were willing to ship out Thomas to lock up Dragic and this is how he repays them. Those teams have barely any decent trade assets besides draft picks. The Lakers and Knicks are not going to give away a top5 lotto pick from this years draft and Miami don’t have a first rounder.

tblazer_NZParticipantIt has been said that he has 7 teams on his list. He wants to go to a team in need of a starting point guard… NYK, LAL and Miami fit that profile. I think trading Thomas wouldn’t be enough as Bledsoe would still be sharing pg duties.
The Lakers have Houstons first round pick in this years draft but thats about it…. Sacremento could be a Team to talk with.

King CaluchaParticipantThe problem with this argument is that the Lakers and the Knicks need a starting everything. He could have said Indiana or even Detroit. If what you say is true, then he’s redeemed. Maybe the press just wanted to make him look like an attention whore.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantWould love to see him go to LA.. But the Knicks may have the better package with Hardway, Early and maybe Wear.

festar35ParticipantIt is a shame, but Phoenix have done it to themselves and I don’t usually side with players who say they want out I do in this case.
Getting Bledsoe was one thing, but I think Dragic showed what he could do as the lead PG when Bledsoe was out and I never understood adding Thomas who IMO is a starting PG as well.
Phoenix is by no means out of the play-off race with trading Dragic as I think Bledsoe will benefit as much as Dragic will from him moving on. They need to get a good return for Dragic and I think they should till look for a big man who can be a rim protector.
They have a lot of guys on the wing in Green, Tucker, Marcus Morris, Warren, Goodwin and Thomas/Bledsoe at certain points. I am not sure that either Lakers, Heat or Knicks have that to offer so it’ll be interesting to see what they come up with. Knicks and Lakers will not part with their lottery picks and Heat could be convinced for top 10 protected, but what else.
The best teams IMO would be looking at Detroit for Monroe (if they think they’ll lose him), Roy HIbbert (not an amazing athlete, but can change shots) and Derrick Favors (Kanter and Gobert front court, could sort each others short coming and Utah get a guy to immediately put them in play-off contention)

r377ParticipantMonroe is not a rim protector and there is 0% chance the Pistons will trade him anyway. They already have Jennings and DJA.
Alex Len is progressing nicely – he blocked 2bpg in Jan and 2.2 in Feb – not bad for someone who plays only 20-23 mins per game. They also have Brandan Wright.
No way Utah will let Favors go, they already have two young PG’s.
Hibbert’s contract is a crippler and Alex Len will be better than him anyway in two seasons (if not sooner)

trelos6ParticipantIt doesn’t matter where he WANTS to go, it’s who has the best trade package.
Knicks can offer a few pieces, Celtics some draft picks. Miami and Lakers can offer f all, so keep dreaming.

tblazer_NZParticipantI meant to say that a team won’t trade assets for a rental so where he wants to play matter as the team will want to be able to retain him. The only Championship contenders that need a PG are Houston and he doesn’t want to go back there.

PhillytheKidHe was fantastic last year and the Suns made some questionable moves. He is overall a smarter player than Bledsoe (may not be as athletic), because the systems works with him as a cog. Why would you sign other PGs? Didn’t they also draft Ennis? Doesn’t make much sense to me.
I’d trade MCW for him. I think he’s that good. I think he’d love playing in Philly directing traffic with all these young guys. I think Brett Brown would love having him as a floor general because the guy knows how to play.
I’d to MCW for Dragic. MCW may have more years ahead of him, but I don’t think he’ll ever reach Dragic potential.

PHXSUNDREAMPICK13ParticipantSuns can offer interesting packages. They could offer both Dragic bros for someone better in return. i would be knocking on all doors. Offer them to Bulls for Jimmy Butler. Even a crazy trade would be Dragic Bros and Lakers owed pick for Jose Calderon and unprotected Knicks pick this year.

Reptilian MonkParticipantSuns should trade Dragic to the Lakers. Lakers will accquire Dragic then start winning some games, giving Phoneix the Lakers pick outside of the Top 5

ExumInfernoParticipantIt is hard to work out trades with Knicks and Lakers, and Heat don’t have the right contracts.
But Dragic has shown people can go back home again, and maybe he will do it again. Phoenix, Houston, Phoenix, Houston. The Rockets have the assets to trade.
To Phoenix, the Pelicans first rounder the Rockets own plus ending deals of Terry and K Papa.
To Houston, Dragic and the Dragic brother and M Plumlee too.
Rockets get their starting point guard and can move Beverley to the bench, and Rockets can size and defense to use behind Howard.
Phoenix get a first round pick for Dragic who could go for nothing soon, and they have talked about moving Plumlee as well. The Suns don’t add salary, just a good draft pick, and don’t have to worry about too many point guards again.
Houston have incentive to trade as Knicks and Lakers don’t. They want Dragic for the future, and also as an upgrade now to try to win everything this season. Dragic, Harden, Ariza, DoMo and Howard starting plus Beverly, Smith, Jones, Brewer, Plumlee, Shved, Dorsey off the bench would be a contender.

sitlbitoParticipantPretty clear he wants to be the starting point guard. To me Isiah Thomas is not a guy that helps you win,he gives you an illusion of being good but he’s not. Just referring to the DeMarcus Cousins comments on Darren Collison where he said something close to “wow it’s cool to have a point guard who passes the ball”. I understand Dragic’s frustration and I don’t know how asking for a trade so your team gets something in return is worse than leaving for nothing in FA. Like .Love in Minny instead of playing the season while still putting up his stats,he “gave” his former team that Andrew Wiggins guy, while leaving one year sooner to a contender, and his former team starting the rebuilding process one year earlier. What’s wrong with that?
