He would give us an upgrade over what we’ve currently got and we wouldn’t have to give up any picks or players to get him.  We could waive John Jenkins and then try and bring in Ray Allen or Gary Neal if the rumors of his eventually being bought out are real.  Adding those two guys would be huge for the Hawks bench.

No one has time to add a declining veteran to a proven system. It’s just too much of a hassle with STAT to spread the wealth. He wasn’t there in the beginning, so there’s no need for him to mess up the chemistry and coattail their success.

You’re right, the Hawks are "doing just fine teh way they are" but this isn’t about doing just fine, it is about winning a Championship.  Not bringing in anyone would be a huge mistake.  You may not like the Amare idea, and I can respect that, but they Hawks need some depth off the bench.  The Memphis game showed that, as did the Celtics game before the break.

STAT will be done for the remainder of the season before postseason play to take more whine/wine baths.

remember the pacers last year? remember evan turner? a trade that seemed harmless actually resulted in some chemistry issues. if I’m the hawks, the only pieces i’m looking to add are very minor bench players, not looking to add a guy like Stat

And last year’s Evan Turner trade was just that, a trade.  This wouldn’t be.  The Pacers sent player packing and also added more than just Turner in that deal.  Chemistry issues can happen when you add and let go of multiple players.  That wouldn’t happen in this scenario.

And I think too mnay people are stuck on Amare from 5 years ago.  He’s been humbled by his time in NY and is a completely different player now.  He knows he’s a backup and he has accepted that role.

Are we really trying to blame Evan Turner for the Pacers collapse last year? Because if my memory recalls it correctly, Lance Stephenson, Hibbert, and Paul all mentally collapsed at the midway point of the year. There was even rumors that Paul George has slept with Roy Hibbert’s fiance for crying out loud! You can’t play Evan Turner for that type of drama.

And for those people who saying the Hawks shouldn’t make a move, and should look to add a bench player, what type of player do you think Amare is at this point in his career. He’s averaging 12/7 with a 19 PER while only playing 24 minutes a game. He would be a good asset to any bench in this league, even more so for a team that hopes to go deep. Amare has played in some brutal playoff series, and his experience could really help the Hawks.

Who do you guys have more faith in, Amare Stoudemire, or Perro Antic and Mike Sott?

Mike Scott; he plays hard-nosed defense next to having a solid offensive game.

Yea, don’t sleep on Mike Scott. He’s a stretch four with very good athleticism and plays tough defense. He’s a good backup to Paul Millsap and does exactly what the Hawks need.

I know Pero Antic hasn’t shot it well this season, but I like that he’s a threat spacing the floor out to the three-point line.

I don’t really see the point in adding Amare Stoudemire, especially considering he’s never healthy anymore.

I think Stoudemire ends up in Dallas.

Honestly, Mike Scott is a better player, no need to take away minutes from him for a guy who plays the same role in Amare

Amar’e is a worse basketball player than Scott and Antic, that’s not even in doubt. He’s gonna sign in Dallas anyway.
