Something something basketballParticipantDoes he get traded by the deadline? Where is the best fit? What is his full potential?

imAboutDatActionParticipantThe front office has taken a beating this season. Getting rid of a rook halfway thru the season will just add to the fire. I mean, people will pull up clips of the draft room all being yes-men to the owner and agreeing to go with Stauskas. I stil cringe when they all told him thru the phone – " Stauskas rocks!!"

chall23ParticipantEvery time I hear his name I just laugh because I think of the Kings owner asking everyone "Stauskas?" just because he claimed he made 93 out of 100 3’s….. Stauskas? stauskas? Stauskas?

juves4783Participantif someone will take jason thompson’s ridiculous contract to get stauskas, i’d do it.
i actually thought a good trade would be…
derrick williams, jason thompson, nik stauskas for david lee. golden st. frees up lee’s contract. derrick williams’ contract expires to try to re-sign draymond green. stauskas is probably a better fit in the gs system. jason thompson is serviceable as a backup. kings get lee to fill in a pf and can draft a guy to learn underneath him next season like myles turner or porzingis.

chall23ParticipantActually no I didn’t, if I "stole" it from anything I "stole" it from the Grantland Inside the Kings war room video which many of us have watched. All I said that I thought it was funny that’s how they made their pick it went along with "Nik Rocks" from the previous post but now I know that is stealing, sorry officer.

JordoParticipantThey got new ownership and still made poor decisions you’d expect from the maloofs. I really don’t see a reason for them to hang on to him but what can you really get back that warrants a trade?

kerrstParticipantMaybe John Henson would be a good fit to finally pair a shot blocking PF with Boogie Cousins

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantI just think the KIngs make bad decisions. Taking Nik, when you already had Ben Mac, who is a rising star and has the abilities. Nik was the wrong move. They needed someone next to Big Cuz. This organization is actually laughable. Like Barkley said last night, they stink.

Something something basketballParticipantI seea few decent trades:
Tie jason Thompsons contract to stauskas and trade him to the bucks for Ilyasova. Or to the wolves for Thad young. Both make sense and would give nik ample opportunity to grow.

BrooklynCeltParticipantTrade to Celtics for Olynyk? He can shoot and stretch the floor. Not sure Celts do this because James Young probably better.

mgreener_34ParticipantI’m absolutely disgusted with how quickly you guys give up on players. Everyone was saying the same exact thing about Mclemor last year, and now we have people in this thread saying he’s going to be a rising star. Good grief. The kids a rookie, it’s going to take time to find his place.
Look at JJ Redick for example. It took him years to finally put it all together, and now he’s a well rounded player who’s starting for a playoff team, and has put up a number of solid seasons in the NBA. As I’ve stated in previous threads, you can’t give up on these guys because they didn’t preform on their ROOKIE contracts. How many teams give up players and then watch as the Gerald Greens/Danny Green/Tobias Harris/DaMarre Carroll/Joe Johnson/ and Chauncy Billup’s of the league go an and have extremely productive careers with other organizations before they realize you actually have to develope the talent you draft?
I don’t think the Stauskas pick was as bad as people like to make it out to be. The Kings were expected to compete for the 8th seed this year, and were looking for a player to help their bench out. Stauskas can still turn into that shooter off the bench. Who were they going to take after him that has performed better? Saric never came over, McDuggie is in the same boat as Nik, Vonle is no where near ready to see an NBA court, Nurkic plays the same position as Cousins, and after that who else? Lavine might have been a better pick, but you really can’t fault the kings for what they did.

sitlbitoParticipantHonestly, that’s the combo of a bad organisation. Draft the wrong players, even if they’re the wrong players, not even able to put them in a good position to develop, change coaches/teammates very often, and give up way too soon. And so on….
