BubbaChuckParticipantJust saw this video of Joel Embiid going through drills before last nights game against the Warriors. As good as we knew he was inside, watch his range from outside (at one point I counted him shooting 11/13 from 3pt).

Mr. HookShotParticipantIf he continues to develop his offensive game he will be a game changer for the 76ers. He could do basically everything on the court if he develops an outside shot… good fit with Noel after all? 😉

nick5354ParticipantI’m not shy about putting it out there for everyone to see but I honestly think he will be the most dominate Centre in the league since Shaq.

Ebown5ParticipantHis health is my only concern. He has everything else you could want in a basketball prospect.
As a Sixer fan it is awesome to finally see him doing this kind of stuff. He didn’t start doing anything other than standalone jump shots until just recently.
It is interesting to take note of the difference in how the Sixers are handling his receovery comapared to how Yao Ming was handled. Yao had a much more severe version of the same injury, and was already playing for the Chinese National team by this time in his recovery. Not that that was the choice of the Rockets, but the Chinese had tremendous pressure on him to play during that tournament. Poor injury rehab definitely contributed to the shortness of his career.
Joel looks about 20 pounds heavy to me right now, but as long as he keeps this up, and takes his time, I am incredibly optimistic. I don’t think he should play in any games until summer league though. Just continue to work on his body, and skills.
His shooting ability with his feet set is amazing. Once he gets the rust off and back into shape his post game is going to be deadly too.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantI didn’t know he could shoot NBA threes, him and Noel may work after all. I think Noel is showing some potential as a defender this year and an athlete, if Embiid is as good as everyone thinks he is that can be a great front court. I like the 76ers potential even more. Can’t wait to see him play an NBA game.

Magic JordanParticipantActually, prior to his rise his freshman year, when he was considered a top ten pick instead of a top 3, ESPN labeled him almost a stretch 5 with anticipation that he was a good shooter. Of course it was Chad Ford so he probably changed it, at least once Embiid starts shooting well Ford will most likely revert it back to his previous assessment.

hbomb3300ParticipantHow different would the NBA be if Embiid got hurt AFTER the draft. No Love to Cavs, Love ends up on the Suns or Warriors, Wiggins to the Bucks or 76ers, who knows if Cavs end up making their 2 great trades… a lot of dominos.

ipowersParticipantI have said it before and I’ll say it again. If he can stay healthy, he’s a better prospect then Jahlil Okafor

JoeWolf1Embiid is a once a decade big man talent. He has all the tools to become the best center in the NBA for years to come, but his health is his biggest obsticle.
Not exactly breaking news, but this kind of growth on his mid and long range game isn’t terribly surprising. Once he gets in better shape and matures physically I think he’ll be an absolute beast. If he’s healthy next year, I think he’ll drop 14 ppg 8 rpg and 2 bpg in 27 minutes or so, but one of his biggest hurdles will be foul trouble. I suspect that will keep his minutes lower than Philly would probably like.

HitsterParticipantAmazing shooting from the 3 minute point where he was knocking in 3 pointers one after the other. Good to see him really working on hisshooting which so few big men often really do.
I wonder if we will see him on court this season, he didn’t look that far off and was doing contact work.in the drills. Coach Brown could ease him in gradually from the bench by just giving him a few minutes per game to start with. This way it gets Embiid used to playing in the NBA and it gets his debut out the way.
With a full pre-season in the autumn he’ll hopefully be in great shape for next season.

tuck243ParticipantHere’s Dwight Howard shooting and making 3’s

I think Embiid is a promising prospect and like everyone said his health is his only issue I can see so far… He looks a little sluggish, but I guess that’s expected. I like his quick release on his jumper though and hopefully we’ll get some vids of him going full throttle.

sitlbitoParticipantHe’s nowhere near 300 pounds,he just looks like a guy that couldn’t do much on the court because his foot was injured so he still has trouble moving. He still looks a bit overweight but just a bit really. And to add to everything you all said,it looks like we(me included) already forgot what was said about him before his injury.

lalailaParticipantI really do believe that 2 or 3 years from now we will be starting to talk about how Davis vs Embiid looks to be the next rivarly for the best in the NBA.
