RUN TMCParticipant2 first rounders and 5 seconds…. The 76ers could potenially have the youngest team in history next year. How do they use these picks to fill out their roster? The big board is showing a lot of very good second round talent. Assuming they plan to keep MCW then stanley Johnson would be the right pick at 3 but after that its anyones guess. The mock currently has them taking 4 C’s lol. I know team needs are not accounted for but could you imagine six 7 footers on one team? Would like to hear what people think they are going to do with all of their picks

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantI would say Deangelo Russell and Kelly Oubre should be their guys to target with both picks. Johnson would do wonders for them but the 76ers need high potential guys and players like Johnson tend to have low ceilings, but high floors.

juves4783Participanti agree. d’angelo fits the biggest need and IF he can make the transition to pg, could make mcw expendable. i don’t think oubre is going to be around for their next pick. i think i have justin anderson in my mock. another athletic guy to add to their stable of young wings: mcdaniels, grant and sampson.
they may end up with a couple nice pieces with their early 2nd round picks too. tyrone wallace, terrence petteway would be nice offensive weapons that low. dakari and rakeem christmas would be great to add up front for some offense in the post.

MopgrassParticipantI agree that Oubre is more of what they need: a shooter. However, I think Johnson has a lot of offensive potential. He’s not MKG. I don’t think I’d take Oubre top 3 and Stanley Johnson isn’t what they need. It’s an odd year for Sixers to pick.

zcnumerounoParticipantThey gotta go BPA with all their picks, IMO.
They should take a hard look at Russel or Mudiay, as I don’t feel MCW is a franchise-level PG, but more of a guy that’s benefited statistic-wise from a bad team.

zcnumerounoParticipantI would also take a look at Stanley Johnson, a do-it-all type that fills a big need at the wing spot.

HitsterParticipantJohnson would be a very solid pick and could be the sort of glue guy to help a young team gel. But in recent years Thomas Robinson and Otto Porter were both seen as safe picks but haven’t done much in the NBA.
I like Russell for the 76ers but Johnson would also certainly be in the mix.
Porzingis could be a wildcard choice for the 76ers as his game is different to Embiid and Noel’s and he’d possibly be able to play some SF where he’d be a huge size mismatch for a lot of opponents.

RUN TMCParticipantI was thinking Johnson and Rozier in the 1st. The 5 picks in the 2nd are really what intrigues me. I believe there is going to be a lot of NBA talent available all the way thru the 2nd round. Guys like RHJ, Perry Ellis, Staten, Harrison, Randle and Nash should all be solid bench contributers in the pros

Memphis MadnessParticipantGo after the best guy to build around THEN trade some guys around.
If Mudiay is the best guy on the board take him. Then trade their 2nd first rounder and MCW to draft Hezonja.
Then you have your lead guard of the future that you can build around, a shooter/scorer on the wing (you can keep Wroten too) then some bigs inside with Noel, Embiid, and Dario Saric when he comes over.
Go BPA with a few of those 2nd rounders.
I would take a flyer on some Eurotential guys with late 2nd round picks.
Why not use a late second round pick on Adria Gasol? He is playing in a glorified rec league somewhere in Europe but he is STILL a 6’10 Gasol and that is worth something.
You can do that, then with some of the other second round picks go with some steady, fundamentally sound role players.
You can go all Witchita State with Fred Van Vleet and Ron Baker. Van Vleet would give you your backup point guard of the future with Ron Baker being a decent option as a backup 2.
Give me a young core of Mudiay, Wroten, Hezonja, Embiid, and Noel with Van Vleet, Ron Baker, and Dario Saric off the bench. The rights to Adria Gasol gives you a high upside/low downside asset for the future.
KJ McDaniels and Jerami Grant also figure in to be solid role playing wings for the future even if they don’t turn out to be guys you can build around.
What they should NOT do is try to keep a bunch of guys who figure to be (highly paid) role players once they come off their rookie deals.
Find the guys you want to build around, then move the other guys for different assets.
The Thunder figured out that you can’t keep everybody. The Grizzlies couldn’t keep all their young guns either.
The Sixers will be in the same boat at some point — but without (perhaps) a legit super star to build around like Durant or Westbrook or even a high level all star like Marc Gasol.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantOubre would be the best pick for us here in Philly. Most upside, shooter, and he is friends with Embiid.. We had Iguodala, I think Stanimal is that.. Hes a beast, but how big is his upside. Oubre fits our need and has the most potential..
