llperezwho’s better right now?
pau: 18.1ppg…12rpg…2.9apg…fg48%…ft80%…2.2blcks…35.2mpg
marc: 18.7ppg…8.1rpg…3.9apg…50fg%…ft81%…1.7blcks…34.1mpg
and how close do you predict they will be when their careers are all said and done? I do feel like pau’s titles and the fact he has looked better for the spain national team when they’ve played together will help him be ultimately viewed as better. but marc is the better defender and his play has erased all the lopsided trade talk when they were traded for each other.

Mr. HookShotParticipantAt this moment in their career Marc is the better player, with him being a very important distributor on offense and being the centerpiece of one of the best defensive teams in the league. Pau might average more blocks but is worse defensively than his brother, while being more of a go-to-option on offense despite averaging less points per game.
Over their career Pau has been more impressive, being one of the main reasons the Lakers won two championships after arriving from Memphis. Marc still has time, but I doubt whether Memphis is good enough to make it to the finals, let alone win the title this year, but also in the years to come. Maybe if he changes teams, even though it still remains to be seen whether he ends up with a better team than he has with the Grizzlies now.

sitlbitoParticipantToday,Marc has a bigger influence on the game,on the opponent’s game plan, and on his tammates. their stats are comparable, but I think their value are not. Gasol has a creer year again in rebounding and shot blocking, but I think Marc is the best big man in basketball right now. We saw what memphis did last year(or couldn’t do) in his absence. As opposed to whenanother memphis player is missing, they still winning. That’s the influence he has on a game. It makes me scratch my head when I hear Shaq saying Cousins is better than him. The poor organisation is not an excuse,Gasol made the playoffs in only his 4th year, and he is a big reason why this franchise is now seen as one of the better ran franchise(Players make coaches/GM’s look good sometimes)

IndianaBasketballParticipantMarc has a lot of work to do on his overall resume to catch Pau. I doubt he catches him, so I think Pau will be remembered as a better player. Not only that, I think Pau will be remembered as the better talent. There haven’t been too many big men in NBA history as skilled and gifted as Pau. Maybe Marc will be remember as a tougher/more physical player.
As for today, I think it’s closer than people think. Not only does Pau averages more blocks, he’s holding opponents to a lower FG% at the rim, while being challenged almost three more times per game than Marc. Pau is a better rebounder. They’re equal passers. Offensively, there’s not much difference to be honest. I think Marc plays a more physical game. I mean, I really think it’s close between the two right now.
And I think that Zach Randolph doesn’t get enough respect for the impact he has on the Grizzlies. Marc was getting a lot of MVP talk, but when Randolph got hurt, the Grizzlies went 4-5. Since Randolph returned? 12-2 and he’s putting up about 20, 12 and 3.

RUDEBOY_Participantpau has had the more impressive career..without a doubt he’s ranks amongst olajuwon, mchale and duncan as having the best post moves…..but as some have mentioned marc is the better player right now…
everyone knows about marc’s versatility on both sides of the ball and his passing..but sitting courtside you can hear how vocal he is on defense, orchestrating and directing teammates where they should be…
