I think that in a best case scenario the wolves have a bright future with the *1st overall pick and Jahlil Okafor. What other players would fit the young up and coming mold of the timberwolves? I also believe that Kevin Martin and Nikola Pekovic don’t fit on this squad very well. Maybe the Wolves can lure a decent free agent as well? Overall I think the Wolves finally got something going for them. *Hopefully.

Wolves dont’t need Okafor, they got Dieng-he can be one of NBA’s best centers in near future. Also i’m pretty sure they didn’t win a lotteryKnicks will take a  first spot).
T-Wolves need some solid, young power forward like Myles Turner. With him Minnie can have a wonderfull young starting five with amazing potential. PG-Ricky Rubio, SG-Andrew Wiggins, SF-Shabazz Muhammad, PF- Myles Turner, C-Gorgui Dieng. Kevin Martin should stay, he can be a very good bench scorer. Niko Pekovic also, he can be a teacher for young big guys and good bench option.
the second option is choose Emanuel Mudiay and sign some good power forward (Greg Monroe will be available)-but for me the first option is better.

I also really like Miles Turner for them. He’ll spread the floor: which will be great because they have guys that drive and they’ll need to kick it out.

If they get the 1st pick, they grab Okafor. They might trade down for Turner, but it’s hard not to keep Okafor.

Pek is good and all, but he’s just not going to fit in with this team. And you can’t say that he can be a good teacher and bench option when his contract is that big. I’d rather see him traded into the Eastern Conference somewhere for picks.

As for Dieng, I’m a HUGE supporter of his and am continuously surprised by his growth. With that said, I don’t care what you’re thinking or who would fit best. If you have the number one pick (doubtful for MN given the other teams jostling for that spot), you WILL pick Okafor. Any team in the top 10, minus Detroit, could use him. It wouldn’t be an "either Dieng or Okafor" but they’d find a way to play them both considering Dieng is much smaller, but they could complement each other well. The Wolves don’t need any more depth at guard or wing, they’ve already got enough young players waiting to make an impact, and drafting another one would just be a boneheaded move – one which Flip Saunders won’t be making in his first real draft with the team.

I absolutely agree that there is no way you can pass up a talent at no. 1. A frontcourt lineup involving Okafor, Dieng, Thaddeus Young, amongst others would contain a bright future in minnesota with the other young talent they have building up there. They could definitely become a western conference factor in the upcoming years if they were able to get their hands on Okafor.

This is a good draft for the timberwolves. They need a big man and there are going to be a few to select from in the top 5. So they should get a big man whether it be okafor, towns, turner, looney or porzingis. I don’t think there really is a clear second guy yet, so it is hard to know who they will pick and who might be available when they pick

The Wolves have been competitve this season. They have been in a number of games and are prob better than what their actual record is.

The good thing about Minnesota is that they have veterans to help the young players. Pek, Young, Kmartin, mo williams all may not be long term solutions but these guys help the youngsters (unlike Philly who just load up with first and second year players)

I don’t know what position Lavine will be. Bazz was coming along strong before injury. Thad Young is only 26yo. Pek’s contract isn’t great but most teams have at least two or three bad contracts in their squad.

Anthony Bennett earns the same amount of money as Andrew Wiggins!!

A starting line up of Rubio, Wiggins, Bazz, Young and Dieng is quite good. A shame they are in the west.

That has to be a record. He’s totally ruining his average by getting a few positives on his recent comment.

My guess is he posted 6 trade proposals involving the Lakers.

I think Towns and Myles Turner are both better fits alongside Wiggins than Okafor.

Both have shooting range to open up space for the drive and Turner in particular has better upside as a shot-blocker.

They should draft the “best big man available”. I don’t always agree with best player available. Because imagine Kelly Oubre is the best available, they shouldn’t draft him, because they have Wiggins, who’s better. I think they should and will lok at in that order:Towns,Porzingis,Turner. Of all the terrible teams in the league (along with knicks, lakers, magic, sixers, sacramento, maybe even Utah),they’re the franchise that’s in the best “shape”. They have an absolute stud in Wiggins, some veterans(To me K. Martin has to stay at least until the start of next year,he’s valuable to the improvement of the young guys because of his professionalism and spacing),and some projects in Lavine,Dieng can still improve,I’m not sold on shabazz but we’ll see. Of all the veterans,Budinger has to go ASAP,and Mo as well,he’s just a chucker this year.

Let’s just say I’ve had my account since I could barely spell:) But anyone saying the wolves don’t need okafor are underestimating what he could bring to the team. I personally love Dieng. Drafting okafor doesn’t give Dieng the boot. And Okafor seems very versatile like he could play the 4 for half of the game. I’m thinking of a lineup like Rubio/Martin/Wiggles/Okafor/Dieng

You have to take Okafor at #1. He can play center and Dieng can play the four. If you aren’t at #1, Towns is the fit. But, he is so raw. Being a Wolves fan, you almost assume he wouldn’t develop if they took him. Kevin Martin will be on the way out pretty quick. I like the idea of taking Russell. They really need three point shooting and he is another ball handler.  I’m not sure what to make of Lavine yet. I was at a game recently and was surprised that his athleticism didn’t translate in game situations. He isn’t very fast with the ball either. Nate Wolters kept him in front.
