don042488ParticipantHe been going under the radar as far as rookies are concerned, but Philadelphia Sixers 2nd round pick, Jerami Grant has been playing well…He had that 8 blocks in one game performance, few highlight facial dunks in the same week, & he been shooting the ball well from deep lately…If Grant can work on his handles & play making skills I think he be like Darius Miles in his prime

don042488ParticipantYou guys are haters I don’t see anything wrong with what I said about Jerami Grant. It’s not like Miles was some great Hall Of Fame player, that’s a realistic upside potential Jerami Grant can reach. I get more love on other basketball blog sites, a lot of people on here are corny

doubledribblerParticipantI almost never agree with your points. With that said a lot of people on here are neg happy. You don’t say what they want to hear and they neg you. With that said, Darius Miles isn’t a horrible comparison. It’s not like he was some hall of famer. The guy was an athletic freak and a terrible shooter. He averaged around 10 and 5 rebounds when healthy. I don’t think that is unreachable.

For_Never_EverParticipantI’m a bit higher on Grant then most since before he got drafted. He brings great physical tools and athleticism at the SF position. I brought up how he needed to tweak his shot a little and he has. He will never be the most skilled player. But if he plays within himself on offense and also geat defense. I can see him being a Luol Deng type of player.

EndlessknightParticipantGrant had a team high 18 points last night (tied with Covington). In his last 5 games he’s averaging 10.6 ppg on nearly 59% shooting (64.3% 3pt). He’s really on into his own the last month or so.
He’s really improved a lot as the season has progressed. The guy didn’t make a single 3 last year in college but he went 3 for 5 last night from behind the arc.

OrserParticipantOn Liberty Ballers, one of the writers made the comparison to Shawn Marion. Marion is imo a Hall of Fame player that Grant is unlikely to equal, but "poor man’s Shawn Marion" is still a really good player. Looking at per 36 stats, Marion was obviously a better player his rookie year (particularly rebounding and free throw shooting) playing on a better team, but they have some similarities (and Grant does have an advantage as a three point shooter).

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantHis outside shot is much better than I realized, mostly because I almost never saw him shoot the ball outside of 5 feet at Syracuse. He has ideal size and athleticsm for the small forward position and could even slide over and play some four in small ball line-ups, especially if he continues to add strength. Ball-handling definitely needs to improve but I’m suprised at how far his skill level has advanced in such a short time. Plus he’s in the perfect position to get minutes and game experience. Could end up being a 2nd round steal.
