When Father Time calls upon DeAndre Jordan, what will he do?

What will he offer once the athleticism leaves him?

Dwight Howard is a good reference for this feat, but the difference is that Dwight was never purely athleticism based, although it was a key component within his game early on. Dwight has always showed some type of dominance in the paint with sets running through him, unlike Jordan.

I don’t want anyone to focus too much on Howard for this post, I just wanted to give a vivid picture of losing athleticism and still being a traditional center.

I don’t think a guy like him will lose that much athleticism that he just is not dominate at all, he still has a lot of physical tools that will serve him well.

I agree to a certain extent, but he needs sets ran through him on the block to help open up his game for longevity.

More than anything,he has to work on his Free throws. 2/12 today on a game lost by 2 pts? To me it’s his fault if they lost, plain and simple.

He will more then likely stay an awfull free throw shooter. Still he’ll likely will have a place in the league in a Chris Anderson role.

Hopefully his decrease in athleticsm means less dunks, which means less screams.  I swear this guy acts like it’s his first time dunking the ball every single time.  I wish he would get over it already instead of acting like he is doing something that a 6’11" guy with a huge vertical shouldn’t be doing.

As far as him in the future??  Well he will most certainly lose his voice in about 4 more season from all of the screaming from dunks.  I don’t think he will be anything close to how effective Tyson Chandler was or is in his old age.  DJ has no basketball skills, his only qualities are…. big… tall…..jump.

Hopefully he learns how to play really good team defense. Look at a player like Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnet. I know they are all time greats, but they are a prime example of how a big man can play effectively with little athleticism as long as they play good defense and protect the paint. DJ just needs to syat within himself, and learn how to play within himself
