treytalkssports.comParticipantThe Pacers could have a really quick rebuild. I know Larry wants to try to keep the core four together for another title run, but they have a real opportunity to reload around George and Hibbert in a quick way. Three steps 1)Trade 2)Draft 3)Sign
1) Trade
The Thunder feel incomplete as a team. They need someone with leadership and guts. They need two way players who know how to grind out wins.
My proposed trade is West and Hill for Perkins, Collison, Lamb, and Jackson. I think the Thunder need tough, two-way players like West and Hill. I think they would fit in their scheme really well and give this team a needed boost for the second half of the season. Thunder lineup would be Ibaka-West-Durant-Hill-Westbrook with Adams, Waiters, Jones, McGary, and Morrow coming off the bench. Ideally, they could get another late season free agent to bolster their bench further.
The Pacers should cash this season in. In this trade, they get a really intriguing young point guard who knows how to get to rim. Jackson’s playmaking would be a good fit next to George. Lamb’s shooting and length could be a really good fit next to George and and Jackson. Perkins and Collison are expiring contracts.
2) Draft
Who? There will be a lot of shifting around before the draft, but if they could get a playmaker like Mudiay or Russel, it would take even more pressure off of Jackson and George. Miles Turner might also be available at their pick. His ability to play on the perimeter on offense and defend the rim on defense would be a really good fit in Indiana, but it would take him a few years to develop.
Any way you look at it, they are probably able to get another really good impact player at their pick.
3) Sign
By my count, after this above trade, the Pacers would have somewhere between 25-30 million dollars in cap space this summer (give or take a little for cap holds), and that is if Roy Hibbert chooses to opt in. He could opt out with a wink wink unofficial long-term contract and open up even more space.
Who wants to come play for one of the top ten coaches in the NBA? Who wants to play with a top ten player in the NBA? Who wants to have freedom on defense knowing that Hibbert is protecting the rim?
This free agent class is heavy on centers, but there are a few players the Pacers could possibly look at. Would Aldridge consider signing a max contract to play with another true superstar? Imagine the length the Pacers could put on the court with Lamb-George-Aldridge-Hibbert.
More than likely, they may have too look at a player like Greg Monroe. He is a good passer and rebounder with a developing feel in the post. He is probably never going to be an All-star, but Vogel could turn a George-Monroe-Hibbert front court into a perrenial top 4 Eastern team.
What if they signed Dragic to pair in the backcourt with Jackson?
What if they signed Tobias Harris and opened the court up with him at power forward?

festar35Participanta lot of potentials things to happen, I can’t see that many changes, however I like how you think! Wouldn’t mind any of it happening.
West to OKC makes sense, but I think it would have to be a smaller trade like West + Watson/Sloan for Perkins + Jackson.
If Indiana got Jackson the draft is all about PF position with Turner, Looney and Lyles. (Allen would be fine to start for a while, not long term though)
Signing Hibbert to a longer and cheaper annual deal is a good idea.
PG. Jackson/Free agent
SG. G.Hill/Miles
SF. George/Solo/Rudez
PF. Allen/Rookie/Rudez
C. Hibbert/MahinmiNot a bad team, has room to grow and get in the playoffs from the get go.
What is George Hill’s value around the NBA, I really like him not sure if other teams see value there.

HitsterParticipantThe Pacers may not really need to rebuild too much if they get Paul George back fit next season, losing your best player for any team is a blow especially when he is a double all star who was reaching franchise level.
Lance Stephenson also moved on so this year was going to be hard but the Pacers will likely get a top 10 pick and I’d figure Kevin Pritchard, Larry Bird, Donnie Walsh and co will make a fairly solid draft choice. A lot will depend where they pick and what the likes of West and Hibbert do if they opt in or out. I’d guess both opt in, then the question becomres where does Paul George play long term SF or PF. If he remains an SF then maybe draft a PF/C or a SF/PF who would be more a PF going forward. If Paul George may gravitate more to PF on his return then maybe look more an SG/SF or a SF/PF who plays more SF.
I could make a case for most of the top 10 on the draft for the Pacers including the backcourt guys.
The Pacers will have cap space in 2016 for certain so they could be rebooted fairly quickly.

sitlbitoParticipantOne thing I don’t understand,Paul George a F? Maybe when he’ll be 36 but now to me,he’s closer to the SG position than the PF
