#1 confusion for me in this field of basketball (prospects, NBA teams etc)…is anyone as confused as me as to why Quincy Miller is not on an NBA roster? I mean the kid had a limited experience in Denver but to my knowledge he contributed when he did play. You look at a guy who is a fluid 6′ 10″ athlete who can get his own buckets and splash an open 3. I mean Jonas Jerebko gets paid 4.5 million to do what you would ask of this guy. You watch him in the D-League and tell me you don’t see talent. I realize his team the Reno Big Horns play a somewhat ridiculous brand of ball but it really just allows guys to show what they can do offensively and athletically. I’m just saying I’d like to see him on the Pistons over Kyle Singler or Luigi Datome or Anthony Tolliver and he’s a heck of a lot younger than those listed and could take up a roster spot for MUCH MUCH cheaper. If I can name 3 guys I’d take him over on my team the Pistons I’m sure there’s a need for him elsewhere in the NBA. I know he’s frail but my goodness who isn’t in the NBA. Can someone tell me if there’s an underlying reason he isn’t on a team?

i’m a nuggs’ fan and was really pulling for him to be a 2nd round steal.  bryan shaw took him under his wing and really would put in a lot of extra time with him and evan fournier during shootarounds but i think in the end, miller just couldn’t perform in the games.  he never shot over 40% for us and refused to get in the paint or grab rebounds.  his defense wasn’t great either.  doesn’t move laterally very well in my opinion.  the other thing i noticed is he was skinny, especially his legs.  i don’t know if he can put on weight or what but he made anthony randolph look normal.

on a side note, i think the reno big horns aren’t really helping their players’ stocks by playing this uptempo way.  nobody in the nba runs a full court press because its too easy for the other team to score in transition so i don’t understand the point.  i think the head coach, david arseneault’s ego is getting the best of the big picture…getting these guys on an nba team.

There are players that have worked on their game to become NBA rotation players after being cut. Gerald Green, Jeremy Lin, and now Hassan Whiteside are prime examples of guys that have done this. I think that Quincy has a very good chance of joining this list.

Haven’t actually watched him play but the stats look nice. In 29 minutes hes going for around 25-ppg, 8-rpg, 2-apg, 1.5-spg and 3-bpg. He is also playing for Reno the same team Whiteside was on. Jordan Adams is there too. Seems legit.

Well to be fair, SVG enjoys playing JJ because of his hustle. His open-shot making/creating off the dribble (a little bit) is an added bonus to his tough defense, hustle and rebounding. However, I do agree that it confuses me that Quincy is not on a roster right now. I thought the Lakers were interested in bringing him in; I guess not. For what’s it worth, I think he still has decent upside. He’s young, fluid and talented.

on the Pistons adding him, although I don’t think he takes minutes from JJ or Tolliver. I think his minutes would mostly come at SF, which is a bigger need anyways. If he can hit some threes and D up, he’d be a nice upgrade over Butler.

I want the Sixers to get him so bad, he could really play his game there, like we)got Robert Coverington avg 12 ppg here.
