The forums are so spammed. A mod who could stop the people who make forums just to get people mad would help. Also, maybe a user could be able to mark his/her favorite team, and maybe the best 3 players at each position. They could also do this for draft prospects, so then they could have a section that shows the top players according to the members.

IP ban that spammer

You can put a post limit that each member must reach before they can start posting links. This usually takes care of the spammers.

Also, for each player profile you could have a table on their page that shows what teams they have worked out for prior to the NBA draft. Maybe even have a link if there is an article about their workout.

LOL @ “Will Aran ever see this?…” and he responded like 15 minutes later. I also love this site. I have been “secretly” coming here for awhile. I read a Sports Illustrated (or ESPN or some “big-name site”) article naming this and the other NBA draft site as being a legit source of draft information and I was happy for Aran but pissed that my “secret” was out. It was because of this site that I knew all about Tyson Chandler when the Bulls traded for him by giving away Elton Brand. At the time, all the Bulls fans who were just getting used to the Post-Jordan era were shocked but excited. Of course, it took me awhile to learn what the “NBA Comparison…” really translated too.

That’s my suggestion…

The part where it says, “NBA Comparison…” It is very important for people to get a feel for what kind of player their team is getting. But, it sometimes puts unrealistic expectations into our heads. Like I said above, it took me awhile to learn how to translate that into the “real world” of an NBA rookie (especially back when they were coming straight out of high school).

How about, instead of putting for example: Joakim Noah – Tyson Chandler (Higher Basketball IQ), maybe there should be a bit of a chart. Like:

Tyson Chandler – 45%
Marcus Camby – 22%
Boris Diaw – 13%
Rasheed Wallace – 10%
Variable – 10%

All-Star potential, 6.5/10 (example: Rose All-Star Potential, 9.5/10)

But instead of just percentages, there could be a chart that covers rebounding, blocks, scoring, passing, etc. and it kind of color codes it so that you could determine that he can run the floor like Wallace and Diaw but scores like Chandler. But, he also blocks like Chandler (btw, Noah was 15th in the NBA in 08-09), etc. I don’t want to compare because this is my favorite basketball website of all-time (by a substantial margin) but that “other site” has a best case/worst case player comparison and I have found myself sneaking over there to check that out every once in awhile.

The All-Star potential is so that people can see that every draft pick isn’t going to be an NBA All-Star AND when there is a sure-fire NBA superstar (i.e. in 2003 with a few different guys or 2007 with Oden and Durant) you know the difference in a first pick that is “Oh boy, we are so lucky we got the first pick this year and we get to choose between Oden or Durant!” opposed to “Shit! Andrea Bargnani!?!? We are picking #1 and the best player available is Andrea F$#%#ing Bargnani!?!?!” (For the record, I like A. B. but c’mon, if Toronto had the #1 pick in 2007 instead of 2006 they would have been MUCH happier)

Sometimes I think we as “draftniks” have a hard time being able to compare guys to other NBA guys instead of just comparing them to their fellow draft picks.

I really like the idea of putting percentages and all star potential onto eac players profiles and you gave a perfect example with the Durant to Bargnani picks.

I’d like to know what Forums i’ve posted on too because I post on a lot. Great site though.
