goldie92689ParticipantWhatare we seeing here? I know we don’t want to give him too much credit….but…
1. 6-9 240lbs with 7-3 wingspan
2. excellent athletiscim, quick feet, good ups
3. 75% from the free throw line
4. best collection of back to the basket moves from anyome not named Okafor
5. excellent hands
6. great footwork
7. shooting 60% + from the field while taking 12 shots per game
8. really nice touch around the basket
9. consistantly hitting mid range jumpers
Can he be a rotation player in the nba?

dcaseParticipantI think his biggest improvement this year and what will likely get him some looks from some NBA teams is his improved mid range game and ft shooting. Regardless whther he gets any NBA love, as I cuse fan I wish he was getting a little more praise at the college level. He is averaging 18pts/9rebs/and 2.5 blocks a game. If he can keep it up through ACC play (especially when the schedule gets much more difficult) he should be getting a lot more all ACC consideration.

username_takenParticipantHe is a college senior, and scouts have a real right to be skeptical that his performance has nothing to do with the fact that he is much older than most of the other talent. Typically, senior breakouts do not amount to much. He could be a mid 2nd rounder though.

machu46ParticipantAs a Cuse fan, the big difference this year is two fold:
1. We’re actually looking to get him involved, which was not the case his previous 3 years despite being a solid scorer the whole time.
2. He’s DEMANDING the ball now.
It’s a down year for Syracuse, but it’s been awesome seeing him finally turn into the player we all hoped he could be one day. He faces an uphill battle to get drafted after 3 years of not being anything special, but I hope he gets a chance to prove himself at the next level. Not sure if he has a role in the NBA considering his game is like a C but he’s too short to play C in the NBA, but we’ll see.
I’ve met him a few times in person and he’s a great, great kid. I believe his family moved to Syracuse and he lives with them off-campus just because he’s a huge family kinda guy. Definitely someone that I will be rooting for to succeed at the next level.

machu46ParticipantCorrection: I guess he’s moved out, but his family still lives off-campus and goes over there a few times a week.
