The Scare Crow RisesParticipantIn NY with James Dolan as Owner, Phil Jackson as GM, Derek Fisher as Coach and the Melo/Hardaway duo as long term teammates?
In LA with Jim Buss as Owner/Gm, Byron Scott as Coach, Kobe as a mentor and Julius Randle as a long term teammate?
In Philadelphia with a new ownership group, Sam Hinkie as GM, Brent Brown as Coach and MCW/Noel/Embiid/Saric as longterm teammates?
Most players would normally love the opportunity to play in a Big City/Market like NY or LA, but I’m curious as to what everyone’s thoughts are on the matter…
Is there another potential spot like…
Boston? With Ainge as GM, Brad Stevens as Coach and Smart, Sullinger, Olynyk and Young as teammates???
Seems like on of the Big franchises of yester year are going to be in position to land a great young prospect in Jahlil Okafor…Where is the best fit?

MopgrassParticipantBoston and L.A. need rim protection (considering their other centers and power forwards) and Philly has enough big prospect centers. I think New York would be the best bet for Okafor and the team. Phil knows how to use an offensive center.
He could end up on other teams too… there are other bad teams and there are always trades.

TimberTrollParticipantThe Wolves just signed a backup center, Raduljica, and Flip just said that once Pekovic gets back they will likely start giving Dieng some minutes at the 4. I think Dieng could be a good enough floor spacer at the 4 and also be a great weakside help defender. If Dieng plays well alongside Pekovic, and Okafor is available, then I imagine the Wolves would take him. Porzingis, Towns, and Turner look to be the other most likely targets if the Wolves have a top 5 pick.

B-ball fanParticipantNYK could really use him. He would be a nice fit in the Triangle, since he is both an outstanding passer and is outstanding at sealing his man. He would be a really natural fit there and NYK could build around him. I think that Okafor may be best off going to NYK, but NYK definitely should be more desperate to get him than probably any other team in the league.
Boston is another team that could use a post scorer, especially now that Rondo is gone. Rondo was never the most natural fit with Stevens’ offense, so Okafor could help the team establish a less PG-centric identity.

ExumInfernoParticipantThe 76ers is the obvious bad fit, they have the young centers which were drafted with very high draft picks plus they don’t have any outside shooting to spread the floor.
The Lakers with Randle and salary space, that should work for Okafor.
New York, it would be Patrick Ewing for them all over again, so if he wants the spotlight that is the place although he won’t get as many shots as Ewing did.
For Boston, he could be one of those last piece of the puzzle players, with Olynyk, Zeller and Sullinger being players who will help him by their various skills, like spreading the floor and using their fouls, while Young would be the young scorer that could develop along with Okafor and run some exciting two-man plays. There are also the many future draft picks to get other players that will be the right ones next to Okafor.
Minnesota, a good spot with Wiggins as the other young star plus they have size to help him and a passing point guard. He would be the new Garnett there.
Four good spots for him, maybe T-Wolves is the best. That is for basketball fit, if he wants media and money and more money then New York or Lakers.

Robb_CParticipantJahlil is a 7 foot old school back to the baske center with great potential at the next level safest pick in the draft.. any team that drafts Jahlil will be a good fit.

clunie.sportsParticipantOkafor needs a team that has or is going to get a big man next to him that will do the dirty work. I love this kid’s offensive prowess, it is very rare for a big man at his age. I personally think K-A-T will be better in the long run and has a much more diverse skill set plus is just as good on the block just not as powerful. But with that being said Okafor is more ready right now so a team like the Knicks, Lakers or Boston who will want returns sooner are the better fit for him as far as overall team building but Timberwolves with Dieng as his sidekick would feel all the voids of things he cannot do at a high level. It will be interesting to see but I do think these 2 young guys along with Myles Turner and Embild from last year have the cycle of great incoming big men continueing behind those of the last 4+ years like Drummond, Cousins, and of course AD.
