unc3215ParticipantWas hoping I could get some information from anyone following unc and its recruits or any of the faithful I see post and follow on here. I don’t know of any good Tar Heel forums that cover recruits more closely.
Luckily I made a wager before the game because I could feel a turn around coming and home court advantage of course. I felt like this was a big game for unc, as the game went on I noticed people in the crowd from following recruiting closely. I told my friend this game is now more important because of who is in the crowd.I missed the first 5 minutes of the game so not sure if somethimg was mentioned. I noticed in the first half that Harry Giles and Dennis smith jr were in the crowd. Could have been more but I could see those 2 easily behind the bench and Roy Williams.I know it’s early but I feel like Harry Giles is the next superstar to be in the rafters at chapel hill. He even leaned and cheered and hoped for a Louisville miss at the end. I couldn’t see Dennis smith jr’s reaction.
With all the academic scandal and only getting maye I was hoping the verbal of jalek Felton might turn things around for recruitment. Does anyone have more information on 2016 recruits. I know it’s early and everyone visits games, but that was a great game to attend and see how Williams lets his star player control the big moments even if he missed the game winner in a game before. All 3 freshmen play and 2 get important minutes in my opinion. Just seemed a good game for a highly touted recruit to be at cheering on our side.

unc3215ParticipantI see unc is 5-0 with Harry Giles In the building and he played the Jv team and seen some highlights through his Twitter feed. I know I will be highly disappointed if he goes anywhere else.

TarHeelRavenParticipantYesterday was HUGE for Carolina on the court obviously and in recruiting. Everybody knows Harry Giles and Theo Pinson were teammates in high school. I’m sure Pinson is recruiting Giles HARD. I hear everybody saying Dennis Smith Jr. is a big Duke lean and those 24/7 crystal ball thingies have his as a big Duke lean also. He sure makes a lot of trips to Chapel Hill to be leaning toward Durham. I think Giles and Smith’s recruitments are wide open. Kentucky will obviously be in the picture along with Duke, Carolina and Kansas most likely. I think the biggest recruit in attendance last night was Jaylen Brown. He’s the type of powerful wing athlete Carolina used to get frequently but has missed out on the past 3 years. I heard it was his first trip to Chapel Hill and it was the perfect game for him to see. UNC needs an elite recruit in the 2015 class like Justin Beiber needs a role model.

unc3215ParticipantI also saw Brandon Ingram was there who we had a good chance it seemed like I’m the beginning. Do you think there is any chance with him?

TarHeelRavenParticipantI honestly don’t know what’s going on with Ingram. He has been to Chapel Hill so many times and Roy has seen him play and visited him so many times that I’m shocked he hasn’t committed yet. Of course the experts still think he’s a Duke lean but ncballer on here said he had inside information that Ingram had a bad visit to Duke and his dad liked Carolina. He also posted a picture of him and Cal on instagram and you know you can never count the Wildcats out. I think it will come down to Kentucky and Carolina. Ingram also said the decision with the NCAA and the academic scandal will effect his decision so maybe he’s letting that play out before he makes a decision.

tuck243ParticipantIf I’m Harry I’ll be going to Duke as well.. Currently there isn’t a team in the nation that allows for players to be the go to player on their team as a freshman. UK used to be that, but they’re so deep. Depending on how far they go next year and what players stick around I would think they’ll be in the running as well… I just don’t see UNC for both of these guys. Harry did look like a fan of the baby blue though.

ncballerI will relay what all I am hearing right now:
1. Jaylen Brown: UNC is a bigger player than most are giving him credit for. He has been a big fan since he was younger, and there is a spot just calling for him as a scorer next to Paige next season. I heard that UK, KU, and UCLA etc. are kind of scared of the Georgia schools right now.
2. Brandon Ingram: He is waiting to see who goes pro, stays etc. I just don’t see him going to UK. It will be UNC, KU or Duke in that order I believe. He had a fantastic visit to Kansas and really connected with Self. It would not surprise me to see him go to Kansas especially if Oubre goes pro. If Jackson stays (which looks likely) he might not get the PT he desires. And yes he had a horrible OV to Duke where K pretty much told him he wouldn’t get a lot of PT his freshman year.
3. Dennis Smith: Very egnimatic. Hard to get a read on him. He was a huge NCSU fan growing up, but he is tight with Rodney Purvis who does not have good things to say about NCSU. I would be shocked if he ended up there. I heard father isn’t too happy with K offering Thornton, however Duke would be the best fit for him, especially if Tyus Jones leaves this year or next. Just a gaping hole there. For the time being, I will put my money on UK.
4. Harry Giles: Don’t count out Wake Forest. He likes them a lot more than he lets on. Manning is selling him a savior role and he would put up some monster Beasely like numbers there with little talent around him. Pinson is talking to him everyday and wants him there. I think WFU might be the slight leader right now. (don’t shoot the messenger)
5. Matt Coleman: Is essentially waiting on a UNC offer. He and Jalek Felton are really close and Boo Williams is constantly comparing him to a smaller Kendall Marshall.

SpaceghostParticipantAs a Tarheel fan I beleive Harry Giles is a must get. With that being said I have seen numerous comments from Giles stating that Him, Jayson Tatum, and Dennis Smith all have plans to go to the same school. Tatum has never mentioned UNC in any blogs or interviews i have read. I do think Jaylen Brown will be in the fold for UNC.
Jalek, and Matt next year is not a bad haul at all. Not Sure about Luke Maye and what he brings.
