Incredible how removing one miserable player in terms of attitude and performance can completely re invent a team. That player is of course Josh Smith who know resides on the Houston Rockets.

Detroit looks like a completely different team out there. Even if Detroit benched him, I think his influence would have still been there and the team would still struggle. Removing him completely was the best option. Risky, but paid off

Does anyone see other teams taking this an example to unload players who have miserable attitudes on and off the court? This brings up the issue of character before the draft and how important it is to draft players with good characters. I’ve noticed that once a player has a bad attitude, they usually don’t change and in fact get worse over time.

Some examples today are Cousins who has been known to act selfish and immature on the court when he doesn’t get his way. As talented as Cousins, anyone ever see the Kings winning

can’t use the pacers as an example because they lost Paul George so we don’t know how good or bad they would have been with George. This is after losing Lance Stephenson. Lance is already having issues with the Hornets. Have to wonder how hard they are trying to trade lance right now.

i thought the knicks did something similar with j.r. smith by trading him and shump for non-guaranteed contracts.  not necessarily to create an effect this year, but for next.  j.r. had a player option that he probably was going to opt in because of its value.

but i think the only way you can make this move is if you have a pretty good plan b.  i mean greg monroe is an excellent plan b and tim hardaway jr. is showing he can play as well.

excuse my ignorance but I don’t follow NBA as closely as I used to.  What happened to Josh Smith and why is he being treated like the plague?  Wasn’t he the darling of this website not too long ago when he kept being snubbed for the ASG?  Is there a specific incident that happend with him?
