jaycee24ParticipantMan I’m not gonna get ahead of myself but it’s been greatly refreshing as a fan to see the basketball Detroit is displaying right now. Jennings is MUCH more effective and I really attribute that mostly to Jodie Meeks being out there and being a LETHAL 3 point threat. With Josh gone the ball can just move and his replacements aren’t necessarily better but our offense desperately needed that spacing. I honestly like Smith but he really is a fringe starter on the correct team but he was not worth what we paid him and it would of been too difficult to adjust his role so drastically while making 13.5 MILL. Now we can pretty much limit Drummond to P&R’s and posting up Monroe when we need a bucket. I’m also encouraged at the way KCP I finding ways to cut and get to the basket. His mid range has improved this year as well. Monroe has also been freed with Smith’s waiving to pass the ball from the block to cutters which the Pistons executed a few time in SA last night. One thing I was/have been disappointed in Anthony Tolliver. I think Stan thought he’d be a stretch energy guy but he’s been off and looked un-athletic since joining the team. I realize he chose to pick him up so he probably wants to make good use of him out there but I’d honestly rather have Jerebko or Singler out there in his place. I actually feel bad for Jerebko. He’s been very solid offensively this year and I’ve been happy with his rebounding efforts. I realize he can be late on defensive rotations and even looks lost on that end but I’d take his athleticism and size over Tolliver right now because JJ has been on from 3 which will only space the floor even more. Otherwise I’ve loved what I’ve seen from everyone and I hope they keep it up because I’ve been dying to have a real TEAM in Detroit and that’s what it looks like we have. PLAYOFFS!?!?!?

NCarmean18ParticipantCut the Pistons some slack. They may have played some lower level competition and teams that have been bitten by the injury bug – but a 6-game win streak is a 6-game win streak.
Detroit has looked so much better since releasing Josh Smith. They have been playing team-oriented basketball, and have inspired a lot of hope in Detroit. Also, the Eastern Conference is extremely weak, and if they continue to play well together as a unit, they could indeed catipult themselves into the back end of the playoff seedings.

NCarmean18ParticipantThe Pistons may continue to lose, or finish the season with a losing record. If I had to put money on it, I would say that Detroit will finish as a losing squad, and they may be a team on the outside looking in come playoff time. However, I think that now the team finally has the potential to at least compete for the 7th or 8th playoff seed, simply because of how well they have played together in the post-Josh Smith era.

HitsterParticipantWith Josh apparently being such a negative effect on the Pistons, I bet Hinkie and Jackson regret not trading for him to guarantee best odds of top pick.
Seriously the Pistons look a much better team post Josh.
