    This year Chris Bosh might make it to the all-star game for the tenth time. Funnily enough, despite having so many all-star appearances, Bosh was All-NBA only once (all-NBA 2nd team in 06-07).

    Has anybody ever made 10 or more all-star appearances while being All-NBA only once? And the other way round, has anyone ever made multiple all NBA teams without being an All-star? Dragic is a name that comes to mind, but he’s only been all-NBA once. 

    Joe Johnson has been an All-star 7 times and been All-NBA third only once. I guess this just shows how weak the Eastern conference is, where a lot of the best players in the conference aren’t close to being top 3 at their position league-wide.

    Ty Lawson could be a multiple-time All-star in the East, while in the West he’s not really even in the discussion behind Curry, Paul, Lillard, Parker and etc.

     That’s a really interesting observation about Bosh.  A few more of the greats I’ve found in my own research (hopefully accurate):

    Lenny Wilkens 9x all star, 0x all-pro, Nate Thurmond 7/0, Dave Debusschere 8/1, Kevin McHale 7/1, Ray Allen 10/2, Robert Parish 9/2, Vince Carter 8/2, James Worthy 7/2

    Agreed. An excellent question. Unfortunately the call of Christmas Cookies was too great for me to do any research of my own…
