don042488ParticipantI constructed a blockbuster 4-Way trade that will net Carmelo Anthony on the Los Angeles Clippers, forming a Big 3 with Chris Paul & Blake Griffin…Click on the link below

JJ_PRParticipantThat’s terrible dude wtf…? Aren’t the Clippers the #1 ranked offense in the NBA? They don’t need Melo imo. That’s a terribly lopsided trade in the Clippers favor, poor Celtics they’d never do such trade for a one year rental of freaking DeAndre Jordan and overpaid JJ Redick.

Forte IVParticipantI only thumbbed you upbecause I agree it’s a bad trade. But don’t ever say JJ is overpaid again.

don042488ParticipantIt’s a trade that makes sense as the Knicks needs to just rebuild, and get better pieces for the triangle offense. Phil Jackson would love the all-round skills Jeff Green & Spencer Hawes possess. Melo goes to a desirable destination where he can contend, on a team that could use his clutch scoring at the end of close games and they could use his post up abilities…The Celtics acquire the athletic shot blocking center they always wanted to pair with Jared Sullinger, in DeAndre Jordan. Even if he hits free agency they can always resign him…DJ, Sullinger, Matt Barnes, Redick, & Rondo can make a run to possibly land the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference…The Sixers acquire a desirable spark plug in Jamal Crawford, who they can use in a later trade as way to acquire more assets

benny15Participantso you’re saying that the knicks are bad anyway and need to retool their roster in order to fit the triangle and what management wants to do? okay i get that and do agree thats a sound thought. however, your deal also says that the clippers should risk the chemistry they have develop now and completely revamp their starting unit and rotation mid-season.
in fact, every team in your deal might actually do it except for the clippers. the knicks, celtics and sixers, all their seasons are under rebuild and dont carry much risk on shaking things up. with the clipps though, they got huge expectations, and the ammount of risk involved in their team is so much more compared to the chances of this deal being a home run.
if they were a middle of the pack kinda team or play-off bubble team it might make more sense, but as they are built right now, they are a possible if not favored team to get home court advantage in the post season. what reason is their to trade 3 starters, who fit your two main guys, and your sixth man for a wild card shot in Melo.
getting him and integrating his game next to blake and chris will not be the easiest thing to do. and its even doubtfull for dalembert to reproduce the same numbers of deandre just because he’s also another athletic 7 footer? and reggie bullock or cj wilcox better be exceeding all expectations of them for the team to consider trading JJ Reddick. the blue devil is such a great fit in their system and starting unit playing the jeff hornaceck role of 3rd scorer and floor spacer to blake’s malone and paul’s stockton.

machu46ParticipantI think the entire Knicks organization would be fired within seconds if they ever made this trade.

ReekoParticipantI do believe Jamal Crawford would be a very very angry man, after being informed he had been traded to Philadelphia.

capecodderParticipantIn your proposed trade, Celtics are giving up too much…..also as a Celtics fan, I would love to see Melp with the Clippers….the Celtics have the Clippers pick this year and Melo would make the Clippers worse

lolyouthParticipantThe biggest flaw in this proprosed trade, is giving up Deandre Jordan and Jamal Crawford and even more assets to get Carmelo.
Carmelo would have to share the ball and take away touches from Blake, plus without Deandre’s defense they would lose a defensive edge. Melo is one of the most talented offensive players in the league, but defense win’s championships, and the last time a team traded away so much to get Melo, it ended up costing them in the long run (Knicks suck) while the team he left (Denver) thrived and continued making the playoffs for a long run.
