Champzilla21ParticipantArticle strraight from ESPN
Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan is going to be out an indefinite period with a torn tendon in his left groin.
The durable All-Star was injured during the third quarter of Friday night’s 106-102 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. He was diagnosed with the injury Saturday.
DeRozan remained on the court for several minutes before being helped to the dressing room. He originally was diagnosed as having a strain.
DeRozan is averaging a team-high 19.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and a team-best 33.6 minutes in 16 games this season for the Raptors, who are off to their best start at 13-3.
Im not his biggest fan but I am Canadian and there for have to root for our only team and this is going to hurt. There in the east so theyll survive but i guess its now or never for Ross to show what hes made of.

OhCanada-ParticipantBuzz online says he should be out 4-weeks max. People with knowledge of the injury say he ccould miss 3-6 games if lucky. Not that bad of an injury appareny but it depends on the severity of the pull, stretch, or tear. Thats why the official statement says out indefenitely. Wouldnt mind seeing Caboclo getting some run but thats unlikely to happen with Ross, Williams, James Johnson, and Vasquez fully capable of sharing Derozans minutes. Good oplurtunity for T. Ross to step up.

OhCanada-ParticipantIve always believed despite Derozans shooting woes he still makes the team extremwly dangerous just by being on the floor. Every night teams constantly hammer on Derozan and he gets so much attention from opposing defences. It takes a toll on your body going to the line 8 times a night and he doesnt have reliable three point range to fall back on.
It should be interesting to see how Toronto operates when oppksing teams switch thier defensive priority to Lowry.

kazamParticipantI hope this creates an opportunity for JV to shoulder more of the offensive load- which in turn hopefully lets Casey see that he is a valauble piece who we can run plays for and through. The Rap’s have empty posessions when they just let Vasquez, Lowry and Lou dribble until they think they can either score or get the assist. It gets hard to watch.
Agree with the above posters though, this is a great chance for Ross to show some things. He has been brutal to start the season. Even if his offense is poor for a game I wish he would tune in on D and not get beat backdoor and on pin-downs. I’ve been hugely disapointed by Ross to start the year to say the least.

Mad MaxParticipantHopefully they’re patient and stay cautious and don’t rush him back. If you rush back with an injury like this and don’t let it heal it will be a constant problem all season that could get worse.

ExumInfernoParticipantRoss has more range, in some ways it will help Toronto and could make it easier for JV to score inside with less help defenders on him.. If Ross gets plenty of shots, and shoots well, it could mean a future problem for the Raptors. They can’t pay him and Derozan the same type of money when they really play the same position.
