 I don’t feel bad for an 5* at KU, Duke, AZ or UK who toils away on the bench.

 I don’t think he has the talent/potential you seem to think he posseses. I think he was a guy who clearly overrated coming out of high school, happens all the time. Plus Duke has loads of quality guards/wings, so the margin of error his pretty small even for a guy as highly recruited as he was. He’s not a bad player, and at another school he might have a bigger role and put up bigger numbers, but he’s nothing special.

Suliman was like a HS Ray Allen and it was clear he had tons of potential if you ever saw him play in HS or early at Duke Bo-Lieve. 

Went to Duke and he should have went somewhere that let him play PG because gaining a combo guard skillset would have helped his development better than a stand still spot up shooter role. 

I would always rather see a guy go to a lesser program and work his kinks out than go BIG and have a team suppress or hide their kinks. Steph Curry, James Harden, Micheal Beasley, Kevin Durant going old school Lamar Odom at Rhode Island went somewhere where they had the green light either to create or chuck. Seth Curry would have developed better ball handling gunning at Liberty like his brother did at Davidson. He may have not been as smart a player but he would have developed a combo skillset more and would have gotten some hype.  

Its better to go to a bad AAU team and have the green light as a marginal guy than only have a small limited role in a big program, same principle here.

Anyways, I thought Suliamon was a candidate for a comeback year after a "sophomore slump" kind of year last year but he didn’t play really at all on Tuesday. He’s weird though and Coach K clearly wants him to do something he isnt doing. Duke has plenty of depth at guard and can play all sorts of different combinations of guys without playing him so if he doesnt do what he is asked to do, dude won’t play. 

If he wants, he could be my Gophers best player. He’d get lots of shots and get the ball a lot. So yeah I won’t feel bad for him. Very easily could go to another good program (not small or mid-major even) and be a starter and big contributor.

fair enough. That could be true…though without looking into it, there aren’t a lot of 6’7 and 6’8 college wing players. Perhaps guys are more developed physically though. No shot, I just always wonder if people know what they are saying when they bring up the whole playing out of position thing.
