Mad MaxParticipantI think we all know just how crazy this team is on defense with their length and size, and I’m really liking this platoon system a lot (it might revaloutionize basketball in the sense you’re going to see teams try to copy, but you have to have the right amount of depth to do it.).
However I’ll say this, Kentucky is going as far the twins take them this season. The twins got off to a tough start last year and everyone dogged them unfairly, but they came up big tourney time which is going to carry over to this season. However, the twins are Kentucky’s top ball handlers and only real perimiter scorers and shot creators the team can realy on to carry the offense. If the twins play good to great, UK has a great chance to win the title and I expect to see both Andrew and Aaron’s draft stocks rise.

AdamJCallejaParticipantTheir lineups are ridiculous, the platoon system is definitely effective with the talent they have. Kansas doesn’t have a true center but you still notice how unbelievable their size inside is. They really have no excuse to lose a game in the SEC. Especially the way Florida looked against Miami. I was a fan if them during the tourney last year just because I thought it’d be cool to see freshmen win it all. But this year it’s just starting to look unfair with the roster they have.

BiggysmallsParticipantOver/under 3 games before the announcers overuse the "platoon" thing and get super annoying? Good Lord its all they talk about. The word platoon is literally making my head hurt at this point.
Kentucky is loaded right now and I disagree about them going as far as the Harrisons take them. Thats a nice little notion that people assume every team has…some individual being responsible for how far his team may go. Thats not Kentucky. Take away the Harrisons, you have a top 40 recruit as your point guard in Ulis and a ridiculous amount of size inside still. Yes they are important, but Kentucky is so deep and tough defensively that they can win 50-40 type games.

MopgrassParticipantBill Self always kills me with his easing freshmen into the lineup. Last year he didn’t start Embiid until it was abundantly clear they couldn’t win without him. I think he wanted to stash him for a year. It was pretty clear that they could handle Kentucky bigs 0% until Cliff Alexander got in there. He still struggled, but at least he made things happen, got boards, and kept them competitive. Oubre can create more than anyone on Kansas and should have played a whole lot more.
Self should do whatever he can to win. Kentucky had Karl Towns in on day 1. Self could learn a thing or two from Calpari. And I’m pro Kansas.

TimeForNineParticipantYeah it’s beyond obvious that Alexander is the two-way big on KU’s roster. Oubre flashed serious scoring instincts as well. I don’t really understand the point of not letting them play. You might lose a few games early due to freshman mistakes but they’d be better prepared for March.

PistonsFan22ParticipantKansas has some impressive freshman. I love Alexander. Oubre is a good one and I like this Mykhailiuk guy. First time seeing Mykhailiuk play but he has great form on the jumper and was an extremely versatile player. Only 17 also. Lots for Kansas fans to be excited about by the time tourney time comes around. There is a lot for college basketball fans to be excited about this year. Very talented freshman players all over this season.

phila9012ParticipantYeah, He is right to ease the ukrainian kid into the starting lineup, he will be starting by the end of december, he is very talented, I know he was 1 of 5, but you could see the talent and confidence are there. He is only 17 too. It doesnt make sense to do that with Cliff, who clearly looks ready to start and play a lot.

GoJOSH HUESTISParticipantIf you re watch closely you will see why Oubre didn’t play as much, his defensive rotations were worst that horrible(guys kept having to feel him to where to go on D and offense as well). This isn’t AAU and no one guys can just do what he wants and lead you to a title. He is very talented but he has had these issues from day one in KU practices. Cliff didn’t play much because he’s foul prone. Self said that from day knee and Cliff showed it with two fouls in the first 20 seconds!!!
