Michigan is really underrated this year. Zak Irvin is about to blow up and LeVert is the real deal. They’re going to surprise a lot of people this year. Thoughts?

Thats what Ive been sayin man Im totally with you. I said a long time ago that LeVert had a real shot at being big ten POY this year and I really felt Irvin would blow up next year and possibly win it next year. I know the odds are slim to none for a Michigan player to win 4 years in a row but these guys are the real deal. Easily one of the best backcourts in the nation with those two, Walton, and Albrecht as a backup.

They’re thin in the frontcourt but they have one of the deadliest 1-2 combos in LaVert/Irvin…This team will go as Derrick Walton goes however

levert/walton is more of the 1-2 combo than levert/irvin is. all irvin does is shoot. the rest of his game is lacking, whereas both lavert and walton have breakdown, pnr and playmaking ability.

i expect walton to be very good this yr too.

michigan’s staff is just awesome at developing players. i wish more top flight recruits would pay attention. players simply get better there.

Zak Irvin is the team’s leading scorer. Sorry, but your comment is nullified by that fact, rather than justified by your opinion.

does that make him a more important player than levert since he’s averaging more points than him too? nope. the only fact you presented is that irvin is scoring. amazing boxscore watching insight there.

zac is just a shooter. both levert and walton have more responsibilities balancing decision making, breaking down the defense and playmaking. he doesn’t make the plays. the plays are made for him.  both are also better defenders than irvin too, who is the worst defender in their starting lineup.

irvin is shooting it well, but his defense and handle still suck. instead of having 3 ball-handlers and playmakers like they’ve had in recent years, michigan only has 2 in their starting lineup since irvin only looks to put up shots and his handle is weak. that’s also why you see spike albrecht playing starter’s minutes because he provides that 3rd ball-handler and decision maker that irvin isn’t.
