According to ESPN sources, the Charlotte Hornets and Kemba Walker have agreed to a 4 year $48 million extension.

    What does everyone think?

(Usually I don’t comment, but personally I think this is a REALLY good deal!)

His fg% isn’t great but it is still quite a good and fair deal for both Walker and the Hornets. The Hornets can continue to improve and work their way up in the East for the next few years without worrying about losing a key member of their team……

Kyle Lowry got the same sort of deal from the Raptors.

I think it is a fair deal. $12 mil a year for Kemba is right on the money I think, which is something you don’t normally see these days.

Lowry got $44 mil over 4 years
    Blesoe $50 over 5 years

Looking at what Lowry and Bledsoe got over the summer it seems like a fair signing and what the current market value is.

       Didn’t Bledsoe get $70 for 5?

And Ricky Rubio is now out of legs to stand on his quest for a max contract.

Rubio should be ashamed of himself asking for a max

Good deal for both sides as the Hornets ( nearly typed Bobcats) could have tried to squeeze Kemba near to $10 or $11 million per year and Kemba’s people might have been looking out for $14 million plus and a 5 year deal as I don’t think Charlotte have used up their 5 year Rookie deal yet ( please correct me if I’m wrong).

Also with Al Jefferson a FA next summer, the Hornets have got his main running mate under a long term deal so it gives them more chance of resigning him. Also it avoids Kemba going to RFA where he could have pushed for more and/or something similar to what they will likely offer Jefferson.
