I have always followed Chris Kaman because he is a local guy (Central Michigan). Not saying he is a top flight player, but when you look at his history, he always seems to make the most of his minutes. Couldn’t figure out why he didn’t start on the Lakers last year. My guess is he will actually put up better numbers than Robin Lopez, who is the starter in Portland. Hope I don’t get negged for appreciating a journeyman, but I really think Kaman has been pretty solid, especially if you consider where he came from.

he defenitely deserved more minutes for the lakers but dantonni was really wierd about the bigs. He loved small ball so kaman and hill would ride the pine while ryan kelly played more minutes then both of them and when kelly would sit they would try using wes johnson at pf sometimes.

I know he had some success in Phoenix when Nash was in his prime, but can we all just agree that Dantonio is a horrible coach.

Kaman had huge potential coming out of that stacked LBJ, Melo, Wade, Bosh draft. Another case of injuuries really limiting a great big mans potential.

He still has more all star appearances than DeMarcus Cousins, Josh Smith, and Big Al……combined, Let that sink in lol but he was a good player for a bad team.

I would still rather have Kaman on my favorite team than Josh Smith. Oops … Josh Smith is on my favorite team. Damn the bad luck.

Kaman has always been underrated, great offensive skills.  R Lopez has been underrated, especially with his great defense.  With young M Leonard around too, Portland has some great size so Aldridge doesn’t have to defend the biggest players.

Durant and Kaman were both on the bench for the West 2010 All-Star team, and this year they might meet in the conference finals.

He never looked happy at the Lakers, and from what I’ve seen so far he looks to be enjoying his time at Portland. He should fit in well and add depth to Portland whom I think are severely underrated coming into this season.
