Hey guys, just wanting to get some opinions on who people see as having the best fantasy careers of the current crop of rookies.   Having just taken over a team in a full keeper league (h2h 9 cats) that was decimated by the former owner i am now looking to rebuild over the next few years.  In this years rookie draft i have picks 4 and 13 and i plan on taking best available with both picks.  Having tried to trade up and failed i am 96% sure Embiid, Parker and Wiggins will be off the board when i pick.  So what say you, who will have the best fantsay career?  My current big board for pick 4 is:

1)Marcus Smart: While there may be a couple of years of stress while we wait to see if he can figure out how to shoot, Smart should be a safe pick due to his defence and high work ethic.  I expect him to stuff a number of cats contributing to points, steals, assists, rebs and hopefully 3s. Seems like the smart pick to me at this stage.

    2) Julis Randle:  Gonna be a beast in the league in my opinion and i think he might be the safest pick here. Only problem i have with him is that while he may very well turn into a 20/10 guy in the league i don’t see him contributing to more than two cats and maybe fg% a few years in if we’re lucky.

Sorry accidentally posted when i was half way through.  This is the rest of the post:

3)Doug Mcdermott:  I really love Dougies potential and while i think he’s more Kyle Korver than Kevin Love, (without the rebounds of course) i think he has serious value in terms of points 3s and %.  4 seems like a reach though.

    4) Dante Exum: High risk high reward type and my favourite player in the draft, his ceiling is as high as anyone here but still so many question marks.  Has to improve a number of areas of his game before he’s an nba calibre starting pg.  Just seems like a really risky pick.

    5) Elfrid Payton:  Seems like a reach but he’s going to be a solid starting pg in the league.  Not sure he has the potential of Smart or Randle though i think he’s a solid contributor from day one.

For pick 13 i have no clue who’s available but hopefully i can get one of Lavine, Stauskas or Vonleh if not someone like Napier or Nurkic.

So what say you?  Who will have the best fantasy career from these rookies?

Stauskas will hit alot of threes at a high percentage. To excpect 10-ppg, 2.5-rpg, 2.5-apg, 2-3pointers made would not be out of question.

It seems as though Mcdermott is winning the starting position in Chicago against Snell. His upside is through the roof, as he could very well be a great contributor in points, rebounds, assists, and threes for his position.

Payton has been doing a good job at doing as his coach asks during preseason with a high FG% and low turnover percentage. Even if he does get a ton of minutes Im not too sure on how effective he will be in a fantasy format as he will not provide good FT shooting, 3-pt shooting, and will have to rack up steals and assists to have any impact in a fantasy format.

Who knows who slides to 13th. Warren could be available or Lavine.

I dont feel like giving up any sleeper info but look at Nurkic, Clarkson, J.Ennis.

Don’t go near Exum in fantasy unless he falls way way way down. Is not NBA ready, young and will not get big minutes. I expect him to really struggle this year while still showing glimpses.

How does your team look like now?

So we could see if you need to plug a hole or you could pick best available.

Oh my team is terrible right now and i’m definitely just in asset collection mode at the moment while i wait to see if a number of the young guys i have become anything more than bench players.  Current roster is:

    Lebron James

    Ricky Rubio

    Gordon Hayward

    Tyson Chandler

    Greg Monroe

    Enes Kanter

    Anthony Bennet

    Thomas Robinson

    Ray Felton

    Pat Beverly

    Amare (going to be cut)

Michael Beasley (lol) (cut also of course)

    Brandon Wright

    Jeremy Lamb.

    Mo Harkless

     MKG

Will have to cut one more before the start of the season too so not sure who that will be.
