valentineIf Big Willie has an outstanding season for Kentucky and proves himself as the draft’s most NBA ready bigman, is it possible that he can be drafted in the top 3-5.

BobbyqrsParticipantNo I don’t think he’s top 5. Really not an offensive threat plus didn’t show a ton of improvement between his freshman and junior year. Not to mention how loaded Kentuckys frontcourt is. I think he will be a good center in the nba because nowadays all you have to do is be 7 feet tall, be able to catch, finish, run and block shots. He can do all of the above but i doubt any nba scouts gambles on him because he doesnt dominate against college kids

Rip255Fair points, but they said the same thing about Joakim Noah and they seem to be similar players following a similar college career arc.

MopgrassParticipantI’d say he could get up to 7th or 8th. Obviously it depends on his year. He has no isolation game and that will limit how high he can go. I’m sure they’re telling the truth about him being 240 pounds, but he looks 220 to me. He doesn’t mind getting physical, but I think he can be tossed around pretty easy for his size. I think he needs another 30 pounds to get it done in the NBA.
Having said that, I’d like my team to pick him a little later and hope he develops. Shot blockers are always welcome.

SpacegrassParticipantWCS reminds me of Sean Williams that played at BC a few years back. I don’t think he is ever anything more than a late 1st round pick and he is going to see a drop in PT because of guys like Dakari , Towns , and Lee.
