I feel like this Milwaukee Bucks team can/will surprise some people this season. Last season was kinda like a fluke in some sorts. Larry Sanders was injured/suspended for most of the season, O.J Mayo was overweight and not into it for most of the games, had a bad coach in Larry Drew, and had a lot of young talent. This season can go to ways for this team. They can either compete for the 8th seed if they get all of their players playing to their potential or they can get another top 5 pick. They have a lot of young talent that can really play. They starting lineup looks like this — — PG: Brandon Knight, SG: O.J Mayo,  SF: Giannis Antetokounpo, PF: Jabari Parker,  Larry Sanders or PG: Brandon Knight, SG: Giannis Antetokounmpo, SF: Jabari Parker, PF: Ersan Ilysova, C: Larry Sanders. And they have pretty good players coming off the bench in Kendall Marshall,  Jarryd Bayless,  John Henson, and some more rookies. To me if all things goes well they can contend for a playoff spot in the east.

Chad Ford had said that Jabari Parker had lost 11 pounds since the draft and he’s been dominating unorganized workouts with other teammates. I’ve seen photos and he do look slimmer than he did in the summer league/Cavs workout. I do believe he should lose 5-10 more pounds to get to 235 pounds to gain more quickness and burst. I can see him leading this team in scoring with an average of 18-20 points and grab 7- 8 rebounds. I fell he will have a better season than most people think and he have potential to be great.

Same goes with Giannis Antetokounmpo. I compare him to Paul George. Their numbers in their rookie year are identical. Giannis Antetokounmpo averaged 7 points and 5 rebounds ( i believe ) and Paul George average 6 points and 4 rebounds. I feel he will have and a big year. I see him averaging 14 points and 5 rebounds per game. He’s a special talent and that 3/4 PnR w/ Jabari Parker will be deadly and will cause a ton of mismatches causing bigger/slower forwards towards Giannis Antetokounmpo and smaller/weaker forwards to Jabari Parker. His skill set is so unique at his size being able to guard 3 positions, handle the ball, and the potential play making ability. I do believe he’s a year or 2 out for "Breaking out" breaking out ( like being an all star ).

You then have Larry Sanders, O.J Mayo, and Brandon Knight. Larry Sanders is a special defender and he seems more focus than he was last year. People don’t know how good Larry Sanders is. People just see him all a rim protector but fail to realize he’s more than that and was up for consideration for defensive player if the year 2 years ago. There’s reports that says that O.J Mayo have lost 20 pounds from last year ( I’ve saw a picture and he looks to be an good shape ). 2 years ago in Dallas O.J was great. He averaged 20 points per game in the first couple months of the season. He can really score the ball and he can help them by his scoring. He have a bad rap in this league but he seems to be on the up and up. Then you have Brandon Knight ( who gets lost sometime ). He led this team in scoring and he’s a really capable defender. He’s not the best point guard and he’s not the worst point guard. He’s in that 11-20 range of point guards and he won’t get any credit to how good he is.

The core to this team ( the untouchable players ) seem to be 1) Jabari Parker 2) Giannis Antetokounmpo 3) Larry Sanders. That’s the only 3 players that seems like the building blocks for this organization. I believe they can shock people and win 36 games and challenging to make the playoffs. But if I was them.i would tank this year and target Jahlil Okafor or Emmanuel Mudiay to be in the core of Jabari,  Giannis, and Larry. The lineup PG: Brandon Knight, SG: Giannis Antetokounmpo SF: Jabari Parker, PF: Larry Sanders, C: Jahlil Okafor. That lineup feels promising enough to build around.

This team have great building blocks in 2 potential superstars in Jabari Parker and Giannis Antetokounmpo, a defensive anchor in Larry Sanders, an underrated head coach in Jason Kidd, and future picks that can change this franchise. They draft smart and I believe they have a very bright future.

I agree. Mainly because of Giannis.

Its a new team everyweek that will surpise alot of people lol , truely is a classic nba season with so many teams improving having young stars etc. I want to see how ginnas will develop it sounds like jason is going to let him loose. It really depends on henson and his play along with sanders

If Kidd can get Henson and Sanders in tandem across the whole season he’ll have a very solid defensive duo. Add in Greak Freak’s length and he could have 3 lock down defenders, Jabari can be let loose alongside Giannis for the scoring and Brandon Knight should improve hugely having Kidd to show him the skills of the PG position.

The Bucks were winning 35 odd games a year up until last season when the loss of Jennings and Ellis really effected them plus with Sanders missing nearly 60 games. If Parker can give them decent scoring then they could have a much better season than a lot of us think. But they are starting from such a low baseline that anything around 30 wins would be a great achivement but not impossible. Personally I think that they will probably get 25 to 28 wins and I’ll be very interested to see how the season split pans out. I’d think they should get more wins in the 2nd half as the team gels.

I think Jabari will be the future of the bucks, he can score in so many ways and has the attitude and will to want to learn and get better.  Not taking anything away from Giannis the kid got mad game but Parker is going to be a big deal I believe

I agree the Bucks stand to improve, but I disagree that Larry Drew is a bad head coach. I also am not sold that J-Kidd is any better of a head coach. His schemes in Brooklyn certainly didnt blow me away.

Granted a lot of other things went wrong out of Drew’s control, but he was absolutely dreadful last year.

And I personally disagree regarding Kidd.  I was very impressed by the way he made changes as the year went on and slowly found an identity for the Nets.  I don’t think it’s a fluke that they had like the best record in the East after the New Year when he made all of his changes.

Milwaukee presents a great opportunity for him to mold the team the way that he wants.  He’ll have Giannis, Knight, and Jabari take turns setting up the offense, and I think that bodes very well for this team.  They have a very versatile roster.

I think I’m skeptical just because Kidd inherited such a mature and older team last year in Brooklyn. This Bucks team is young and will not be able to police themselves in the same manner, nor do they have the individual talent of that Brooklyn squad. Kidd is going to be forced to deal with issues he wouldnt have to with Brooklyn. I think it will be a challenging year to say the least..

Jabari is going to be a star and I feel, Giannis will be good, but he’s starting to be overrated. This team has some nice pieces, let’s see if Kidd can make it work.

Mudiay would, of course, be great for them. I like Knight okay, I just don’t think he’s the starting PG for a playoff team.

Mudiay looked such an obvious choice for the Bucks when he was going to spend a year under Larry Brown at SMU. With Coach Brown having drilled defence into him and imparted all his wisdom then to have Jason Kidd as your NBA Head Coach is almost a perfect grounding for any PG.

Mudiay will now have a year in China but I agree that the Bucks would be a good fit for him having Kidd as his mentor and a couple of potentially elite talents to create for.
