Sharp ShooterParticipantIt seems like ever since SVG came to Detroit he’s been revamping the whole roster. Also he stated that he anted to change the culture of the team. Since the he has brought in an abundance of guards.DJ Augustin, Spencer Dinwiddie, and apparently Lorenzo Brown. Now add Brandon Jennings and Will Bynum to the Mix. Thats 5 PG’s. With Dinwiddie not ready to play just yet IS Jennings on his way out? Do you think that SVG will trust him. Personally Ithink that SVG is gonna ride with Augustin due to the fact he more disaplined on Offense. SVG is trying to mimic the Orlando dwight years and since Augustin has a similar style of play to Nelson I wouldn’t doubt it.
As for the big man, I find it hard to believe Greg Monroe is going to be a pistons all season. Eventhough he signed the QO and has a right to veto any trade I just think that he ‘s just burning his bridges in Detroit. He’s already been suspended for two games for DUI (and urinating on himself),
I do believe that Josh Smith will stay a pistons (and start at pf) due to the fact that he is more versatile and plays good defense. Monroe will be coming off the bench as a four (if in the game with drumond) or as an 5 (if in the game with smith) If this proves to be true, and monroe is willing to accept that role the pistons could be low seed playoff bound.
The SF situation like soeone stated in a different post is suspect. You cannot expect to win games with either Butler or Singler as your starting SF. I would rather have KCP start at SF (he’s 6’6 and played some sf last season). But ingeneral, the pistons need to get a servicable sf. Jeff Green or Harrison Barnes would be a nice pickup but it what cost.
I do believe that this team will be fine as long as they work on chemistry, work with the players who commited to the team (in which some are not), getting the SF situation figured out, and figuring out what to do with BJ
Could the pistons be working on a packaged deal? What do you guys think?

omphalosParticipantI feel like Harrison Barnes would be a GREAT fit with this team, but hard to see the Warriors going for it, unless they can get Monroe to sign for a whole lot less than David Lee (given they are pretty similar players).

ropeParticipantI think bringing Monroe off the bench is a good idea. As you say, he can play the 5 and the 4. Jennings will probably start the season in the starting lineup, but it will not be a surprise if Augustin starts later, or even if Jennings is moved.
I wouldn’t trade Monroe. First – I beleive – the matching salary thing is going to probably bring back something mediocre. Even from the bench he will have a reason to play hard, as he is playing for a big payday.
SF will be manned by whoever is able to consistently hit 3’s. Same for the SG.
PS – On the Monroe front, he really ought to be looking at teams that plan to play him at center. He is far better in that role and, paired with a shotblocking PF, he is a pretty nifty post presence and a good rebounder. He simply is more suited for success on offense and defense when he is playing the 5.

SpaceghostParticipantI find hard hard to beleive been this bad and i think chemisty is the man problem and it starts with OLD CHUCKER Josh Smith. He has got to go..I like what he brings to the team defensively WHEN he is engaged. Every NBA player takes bad shots..but his bad shots are game after game and just deflates the team. Oh yeah and Brandon Jennings is a back up Point Guard playing starters mins and the Pistons have a guy named Luigi on their roster..smh NVM..Pistons doomed for another yeah of 18 wins.
