  1. Harden, though ESPN considers Dragic as an SG and that is near a push.
  2. Harden, but I’m buying stock in Zach Lavine early.
  3. Kyle Korver provides game changing spacing, Zach Lowe had a great article about it.
  4. Klay Thompson is way overrated. Guards who can’t dribble shouldn’t get max contracts like many expect he will.
  5. Beal is slightly ahead of Waiters and ‘Dipo.
  6. Gary Harris will have the best rookie season, but not career out of this class.
  7. Gerald Green is the most athletic for another year or two, then Lavine.
  8. I hate to say it, but I think D-Wade will play better old man ball than Kobe this year.
  9. Kobe and D-Wade are the only real team leaders in the field, I’d take Kobe.
  10. MJ Kobe Wade
  11. Lance is the current favorite for sheer entertainment.

1. Best SG right now? James Harden – I really don’t this guy, but with Kobe and Wade having health issues it has to be Harden. Offensively is an animal, defensively he has potential however he doesn’t even try.
2. Best SG in 5 years? Bradley Beal – I feel this kid can be a phenominal two-way player. He has the ability to put up 20ppg+ as well as pull in 5 boards and dish 5 assists. Defensively he has shown a great will to compete and will only get better IMO.
3. Most Underrated? Dion Waiters – I feel bad for this guy,in the brief time he got to play as the #1 option whilst Irving was out he was fantastic. I think he has the potential to be a top 5 SG, but people call him a chucker. He reminds me of a bigger Monta Ellis who has become very serviceable.
4. Most Overrated? James Harden – The best SG but it is due to the weakness at the spot, I mean as I stated the kid can’t even play D.

  Jerry West was more of a shooting guard…although he transitioned to more of a facilitator later in his career. While we are on the topic of Jerry West and considering most peole would consider him a shooting guard I am shocked that he isn’t getting more votes as a top 3 SG of all time (behind (MJ and Kobe).

    That’s one thing a lot of people don’t get about certain players, is that they played multiple positions. Oscar Robertson is almost unanimously considered a PG but he played quite a bit of SG as well. He was the primary ball handler for his teams but often defended opposing wings. Even Larry Bird started off his career as a power forward.

      i agree with both of you. jerry west to me was a guard with gail goodrich, and that’s i would maybe to a fault put him as the pg. oscar could play three positions during his time. magic johnson could play five different ones. beggining of his career he played more sg and after a couple years played point. it’s just that there are no in-between categories in these. even today’s new scoring point guards to me aren’t true point guards, but i just go with it. jerry west would be a scoring point guard today imo.

Amazing how one season completely changes a person’s perspective of a player. Kyrie was the landslide winner for best young PG last year but now he’s most overrated. 1. Lance Stephenson. I think he’s an all-around player and he is the best 2 guard in the East on a team on the rise. Hornets will make some noise this year.

    You don’t need to be a star to be a leader. Hell, you don’t even have to be good. Players like Earl Watson, Derek Fisher and the like have been locker room leaders while barely being NBA-caliber players. Fish was clutch though.

If you were drafting a five man roster, and had your PG and front line set then who would you pick as your starting SG? I think more people would say Klay Thompson.
