According to Phoenix sportscaster Jude LaCava, Bledsoe is now on the trading block. Per Suns blog Bright Side Of The Sun (via Fox Sports 910):

“I’ll tell you this, and I think this is the first time it’s reported,” LaCava said on Tuesday. “I do believe in my NBA sources. You can take this to the bank, so to speak, the Suns are now discussing trade possibilities for Eric Bledsoe. … That’s the new chapter to this and I wouldn’t back off of that information. I think it’s 100% correct.”

Eric Bledsoe for Brandon Jennings and Josh Smith/or Greg Monroe

Make it happen Detroit.  Show me you care and you regret signing those two.

In all honesty besides the clearly horrible trade above.  I think Pistons are one of the few only logical places he can be traded.

Phoenix shouldn’t even pick up the phone when Detroit calls them with this proposal

I’ve always liked a Bledsoe for Monroe deal to be honest. But since Monroe accepted his qualifying offer. Can he be traded right away or has to wait the 30 days?

What about Bledsoe for Brandon Knight and Larry Sanders/John Henson?

The negotiation process has been painful to watch.  After a season in which he and Dragic created something special with a fast, aggresive backcourt combo, it seemed as if he and the Suns organization couldn’t come to terms on anything.  Here’s to that they can find something that works for both sides and that Hornacek will be able to duplicate the same success with Dragic and Thomas.

I always thought the Clippers should have traded him to Orlando for Aflalo. Now Ithink they should try to trade him to Minnesota for one of there assets.

I’m a Suns fan and to be honest I’m not that crazy about Eric Bledsoe, I think Dragić is a superior player in terms of leadership, health, and efficiency. With that being said, I’d rather Bledsoe leave for nothing then take on team cancers like Josh Smith, Brandon Jennings, Larry Sanders, etc. Greg Monroe is a nice piece, but he just muddies the already deep waters of the Phoenix Suns’ frontcourt. This all comes down to Bledsoe and his agent being a professional, and accepting that no GM in the entire NBA thinks he’s worth what he claims he is. He’s either going to accept the deal or will be replaced and thrown into a situation worse than the one in Phoenix.

I don’t think he gets traded because it works against the interests of both sides.

Bledsoe is thriving in Phoenix. He needs to prove he’s worth the max deal next season and he has a better chance of doing this in Phoenix than at another team which has a different system.

Phoenix are getting a quality player this season on a cheap rookie deal. If he plays at an All-Star level, they’ll pay the max money when he hits Unrestricted Free Agency. They can still offer him more than any other team. If he still wants to bounce, they can use him in a sign & trade. If he has an average season, he can walk for nothing and they use cap space to get someone else.

Trading him now doesn’t make sense as they won’t get a player of his calibre in return and they have the cap-space, depth & young talent to keep thriving if he leaves.

Prediction: Suns make the playoffs this season. Bledsoe has a good (but not All-Star) season and still gets a good deal by an Eastern Conference team in Free Agency. Phoenix let him walk but stay a playoff team in the future.

Suns get: Greg Monroe, Andrea Bargnani, JR Smith

Pistons get: Iman Shumpert, Marcus Morris, 1st Round Draft Pick (Suns)

    Knicks get: Eric Bledsoe

    thoughts?

So the Suns trade away the best player in the deal (Bledsoe), a very talented 6th man candidate (Morris) AND a first round pick?

I think it was foolish for Bledsoe not to take that offer… $48 million is already a LOT of money… Not all players can make that kind of money yet he still wanted more.. I’m just shaking my head on this..

How bout Pekovich for Bledsoe. The Suns seem like they could use a legit front court guy and Pek could help them score when the game slows down. Not a great defensive guy but Morris and Plumlee are solid and the contracts could match. Wolves could give Bledsoe a 4 year 54 mil or something and now worry because they don’t need money.

Somewhat wishful thinking, but I don’t think its a terrible deal for either team.

The thing with this Bledsoe/Suns situation is that the Suns have their back-up plan already in place (Thomas and Ennis), giving them quite some bargaining power compared to Bledsoe, who was in his first season of taking the spotlight and got hurt during the process of showing off his skills. Apparently no other team is willing or able to pay Bledsoe more than what he could get in Phoenix ($48 for 4 years) so I agree with marcusfizer21 and would advice Bledsoe to take the money in Phoenix. The Suns are not in a rush to make any move considering their back-up plan, and Bledsoe would get paid quite handsomly for playing in a system that obviously fits him very well. I believe however that it has become a matter of not wanting the lose for Bledsoe; he originally did not want to sign the contract proposal from the Suns and now he (and his agent) does everything he can to avoid doing so eventually.

I read that his ‘agent’ got his start with LeBron coming from a background of selling retro jerseys..explains a lot I think :-/

At this point the Suns arent getting shit for Bledsoe in a trade. And it sucks cause it sets their rre-building back quite a bit. He was one of their only true building blocks or trade assets to use to get another block but now with no trade leverage they have a keeper in Dragic and a bunch of average role players without the star potential of Bledsoe. Unless Morris or Warren turns into a bona fide star, this process is going to get slowed to the pace we all expected to be originally

Orlando would be a good spot for his style of play and they have good enough young players to trade for him. However, Bledsoe might not stay, making him a big risk for any team.
