festar35Participanthttp://www.basketballinsiders.com/source-rondo-to-kings-deal-nearly-done/
Usually a reliable source, think it happens and how do you see it affecting each team?
Sac-Town become a legit threat with Rondo and Stauskas in back-court the kid will get some great looks.
I can see Cousins and Gay upping their outputs from last year as they would have a true facilitator at the helm. This team would be very good.
Celtics looking at full rebuild, my question is what happens with Bradley he just inked that new deal and they bring in McLemore who has the potential to be a great starting 2-guard, who would work well off the ball with Smart.

benny15Participanti dont think there would be much issue honestly. i felt that the kings were force feeding B-Mac the starting slot last season before he was actually ready for it. i dont think there would be any issue with developing him at his proper pace and if and when he deserves to start, they can start him and have bradley serve as a 6th man as somone solid coming off the bench.

Anton123ParticipantWow-wow
This is great, it would be really cool to see Rondo in a completely different setting. Rondo, Cousins and Gay sure look like a great combo on paper and Stauskas’ shooting will compliment them well. They now have Darren Collison coming off the bench, giving them a great backup PG too. I think that if this deal goes down and the team gels together well, they may get the 8th spot in the playoffs (personally, I’m picking the Grizzlies to drop out of the top 8 this year)
The Celtics are would be just stacked with talent and tradeable assets. Really hard to say what they want to do right now, the deal will give them at least 5 quality guards (M. Smart, A. Bradely, B. Mclemore, M. Thornton, J. Young and, maybe, P. Pressey (who I think can become a good backup) and at least 5 quality bigs (K. Olynyk, J. Sullinger, T. Zeller (I’m really high on Zeller), B. Bass, V. Faverani) and that’s six if you see D. Williams as a PF. I’m sure they don’t need all these players and could turn them into some more talent and/or picks. Also G. Wallace will be a 10,5 million expiring contract next year, so they can turn that into something.
There’s a lot to be excited about for fans of both teams.

trelos6ParticipantNo way Grizzlies miss the 8. They are a genuine 4 seed when they are healthy.

festar35ParticipantI would put Spurs, Thunder, Mavs, Clippers and Warriors all ahead of the Grizz. Rockets are an unknown commodity but they could be very good on their day as well as Portland gaining experience.

Anton123ParticipantI’m sure they have a good chance to make the POs, I just think that it is a possibility that Z. Randolph and T. Prince are going to regress due to their age, then I’m not sure about Gasol’s and Carter’s durability and they also lost Ed Davis, James Johnson and Mike Miller which will affect their depth and maybe force some starters to play more than they’re comfortable paying.

For_Never_EverParticipantThis would be robbery for the Kings.
I would use the word quality very loosely for the Celtics bigs. Other then Brandon Bass.
D-Wiliam been on a trading block from the start he doesn’t have that much value.
Gerald Wallace game was almost entirely based of his athleticism and hustle. He played horrible for the Nets and didn’t play much for the C’s. So what is he and his contract worth at this stage ?
Exciting for the Kings to get Rondo with what they have, but for the Celtics I’m not seeing it.

omphalosParticipantRondo is my favourite player and it’s tough to think that’s all we could get for him.
I still feel like he would really help this team develop by providing leadership and a winning history to the group.
I hope this doesn’t happen, especially not for that.
I wouldn’t be trading Rondo unless we go back a legitimate, young 7ft rim protector.
That’s what we need more than anything on this roster.
We aren’t going anywhere without a shot-blocker.
I just want to see what would happen with Rondo healthy for a full year with this team.

HighlightfilmParticipantThis deal could help Sacramento become a west coast threat. I see more points for Stauskas and Demarcus because Rondo passes first and this could make Stauskas sort of play like Gordon Hayward with the touches he might get considering whether or not he makes the starting position or get big minutes. But also you got to worry about Darren Collison because the trade would make it his second year being benched and coming behind a well known PG that knows how to pass. But he played well for the clippers and he might come and make something happen off the bench. Carl landry is finally going to come back and come drop some buckets for Sacremento also Rondo will be reunited with Jason Terry.
As for Derrick Williams and Ben Mclemore I don’t see much time for McLemore because they are going to have other better guards ahead of him. I don’t see a high scoring production for him either considering they have Jeff Green Jared Sullinger and Marcus Thorton. Also he has to be aware of James young Because if they get rid of Rondo I believe Marcus Smart is promised that starting spot. Same for Derrick I just see him as a scorer they will use later in the game he could get some big minutes.
but who knows these are just my predictions.

sweaterflexParticipantIt seems like Danny Ainge would want to unload Gerald Wallace’s contract if he is getting so little for Rondo. Trading Rondo and Wallace for Williams, Terry, Jason Thompson, and McLemore fits under the salary cap. I know Terry doesn’t want to play in Sac-Town.

Meditated StatesParticipantHe scores easier and more efficient with Rondo. Ben is not b a piece you gain for Rondo and even be close to suitable value. Stunting Olynyk’s growth right now would be a mistake. Unless Smart shows the right chemistry and IQ the younger players regress or slow their growth without Rondo. Easy buckets develope a young players confidence. I think Rondo is great for the confidence of a young players. Sac wants him but does not have adequate pieces. I say keep dreaming Boston takes B Mac for Rondo.

Lotto StudParticipantAll I know is that the Kings have not been satisfied with the 1-spot for quite some time. They feel it’s a necessity over want in this situation.
Think about it, they gave up on 3 PGs (Evans, Fredette, Thomas). However you see it, if they are willing to take this measure of letting McLemore and Williams go, be happy and let them live to build a contender.
Both teams are winning in this deal, especially Beantown. The future that the Sixers are looking forward to, Danny Ainge has now beat them to the punch with limited time and transactions.

NeggedAlterEgosAlterEgothe thing about the sixers is they gave up iggy and vuc for nothing at all
the. celtics got back assets. for everything
sometimes going fast gets you in the middle of nowhere im cool with the sixers but staying on topic i think rondo is good fit out sac…i think they. should try to get josh smith also…they have pics and ok contracts they. could move..

FearTheStacheParticipantTo be fair, the sixers traded Iggy and Vuc with intentions of getting the 2nd best center in the league. It just turned out to be nothing.

Meditated StatesParticipantI would let Rondo put up scary numbers during the season wich he will and then see what offers come back. Ben Mac is a catch and shoot player who must prove he can shoot a high % in the L. Why trade a player who makes others better for that? Good deal for Sac obviously. Garbage deal for the C’s unless B Mac is averaging 18 to 22 by trade deadline shooting 44 fg and 40 from 3.
